Recipe: Bowtie Lasagna

Tonight I tried a wonderful recipe my friends has been telling me they made, from the fabulous Pioneer Woman. I have to say I usually change recipes around and do my own adaptations, but this one I pretty much did everything the same. It was SO good, and my husband loved it too. It was so good, that I will probably have leftovers later on.

3/4-1 lb ground beef
6 oz of Mozzarella, shredded
1 jar of pasta sauce (I used Newman’s Own Sockarooni)
Parmesan Cheese
10 oz of Farfalle Pasta (Bowties)
Olive Oil
Garlic Powder
Italian Seasoning
3/4 cup Sour Cream

1. Cook up the ground beef while your pasta is cooking. Drain the ground beef so there is no fat. I could imagine you could use ground turkey or even some Italian sausage.
2. Return the ground beef to the pan and pour in your cooked farfalle.
3. Drizzle some olive oil on top, I would say about a few tablespoons.
4. Pour in your pasta sauce and add in some garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and S & P. Just eyeball it to how much you would want.
5. Stir that up and let it heat up a bit.
6. Add in your shredded cheese and sour cream.

7. Mix everything together and let it heat through.
8. Eat up the cheesy goodness topped with Parmesan, serve with a side salad and some garlic bread.

 Ok, well that picture doesn’t do it justice at all, but it’s SOOO good. It’s nice and creamy. I promise you, if you do not like sour cream, you still need to add it, it really makes the dish, and doesn’t taste like sour cream.

  2. Wow, you make it sound like really easy. I’ve got to try this one. My kids do love lasagna and I’m pretty sure they’ll like your lasagna bow tie version here, lol! Well, aside of course from the fact that it’s cheesy, they do love shaped pasta. Just last week, they kept on raving about the spiral lasagna I did for them. Funny how it is the exact same lasagna recipe only different pasta and yet they thought it’s a whole new dish already! lol!

    I love lasagna but hate the time it takes to prepare. This sounds like it keeps all the yummy flavors but much quicker and easier. Like that it skips the expensive ricotta cheese called for in lasagna, too.

    My husband loves lasagna, but it can be very time consuming and intensive. My daughter doesn’t make it very much, but this recipe looks yummy and much better on time and prep work. Good use of bowtie pasta!
