Recipe: Spicy Ranch Bacon Chicken Cheddar Pasta

This is one of our favorite meals, it’s so easy to make and has so much flavor. If you like ranch, bacon, and cheddar you will love this meal!

1/2 lb chicken breast cut into bite size pieces (I use tenders)
1 dry packet of Hidden Valley Spicy Ranch (or regular ranch and add some Frank’s Hot Sauce)
1 1/2 cups of milk
2-3 tablespoons of flour (depending on the amount of bacon grease you have in the pan)
1/2 package of bacon
1 box of pasta, we like to use the mini-bowties as they get more coverage of sauce
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Cook your bacon in a large frying pan (you will use this to cook the other stuff and mix your pasta into so make sure it’s large.)
Boil the pasta while the bacon is cooking, drain and set the pasta aside.
Take the bacon out, but leave the bacon fat in the pan.
Cook your chicken in the bacon fat, I like to flavor the chicken with a lot of black pepper to give it some flavor.
Add in your flour (we’re making a roux here), and cook the flour taste out.
Dump in the packet of spicy ranch/ranch dry seasonings.
Whisk in the 1 1/2 cups of milk, make sure you whisk it so you don’t get any lumps.
Let this cook a bit, it will start thickening up. I add in a 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese at this point, making like a cheesy ranch sauce. Also add in 1/2 of your bacon. Let that combine for just a min, then dump in your cooked pasta.
Stir it all together.
I like to serve it at the table in the pan, so I put the rest of the cheese all over the top of the dish, and sprinkle the bacon on top of that. Cover with a lid so the steam melts the cheese.

  1. This sounds pretty darn good only thing is I may not use Franks hot sauce with mine. Hot sauce dont work well with my stomach at my age. This would be something the whole family would like. Thanks for the recipe it sounds easy enough to make

  2. Sherry Compton says:

Wow! A little bit of everything for everyone. Spices, chicken, bacon, cheese, and pasta. Sounds like many comfort foods added together for some great yumminess. Grab a forkful and enjoy.

  3. Sherry Compton says:

I can see why your family enjoys this one! It’s a perfect recipe for today, too. Today is National Hot and Spicy Day. My daughter made a spicy dip for work, but this would be great for dinner.

  4. I’m noticing a trend of cheddar, bacon and ranch in these recipes. And I definitely can’t complain! Three of my favorite things and a great way to make chicken more exciting.

  6. This sounds very, very good. I’d be tempted to put more “very”‘s but I need to just make this – asap! It has everything lip-smacking good in it, and I know will appeal to teens, too! Wow!!!

  7. Julie Wood says:

This is a very delicious recipe that I would like to make on Sunday when my family gets together. I love Ranch and bacon together and chicken makes this a healthy dish. I would serve this dish with a salad.

  8. This sounds simple and yummy. Thank you for sharing.

  9. Jo-Ann Brightman says:

I would probably use plain ranch since we don’t like the food too spicy/hot, but I might add both garlic and onion powder. Any recipe with bacon and cheddar cheese is delicious for me!

  10. M.Clark says:

Another delicious recipe, I use turkey bacon, it works well. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

  11. Kelly Faber says:

This is my kind of comfort food!! I love anything with ranch, so I know this has to be good!! I would like to replace regular bacon with turkey and see how it tastes! Mm

  12. This sounds like a great recipe. It is a dish my family would love Thank you so much for sharing this. I will give it a try
