Gulf Islands Water Park Gulfport MS – Review

gulfislandsMy family and I recently took a trip down to the Gulfcoast of Mississippi to the Gulfport and Biloxi area. I had only been there once, so I wasn’t sure what all there were for things to do while visiting. I have to say Gulf Islands Waterpark sure didn’t disappoint us!

When we arrived to the park I was surprised to see that they offered free parking. My family and I are Florida natives where you pay to park almost every attraction you go to, so this was a big plus to find it was free parking! We got into the park very easily with no hassle. Their tickets are very reasonable too! They actually have a great deal going on right now through June 7th that a season pass is only $49.99 each!

Our family of four went, myself and my husband, and our two girls ages 18 months and 4.5 years. There was something available for all of us to do! The waterpark was a nice size too, much bigger than another we had visited previously in Mississippi. I took a lot of pictures of some of their attractions around the park.

We took advantage of the kiddy area called Lil Pelican’s Bay, the majority of the day was spent here. waterpark9

My girls LOVED it as you can see! They had some great kiddy water slides that were bigger than a normal kiddy slide, but not too big. My 4 year old is usually scared of them but we picked up a life jacket for her (for FREE at the front entrance) and she LOVED going down them.

We really enjoyed the Waveland Wave Pool too, my 4 year old didn’t like the waves, so we would get out when the waves would start, and when they stopped we went right back in. Another favorite was the Lazy Pearl River for all of us. I liked that they offered double tubes with one of them enclosed. I could put one of my kids in it, without fear of them falling out.

We also got lunch while we were there which the prices were great. We got chicken strips and fries with a drink for less than $9. The chicken strips were very good too, not like someone just pulled them out of bag and microwaved them. They had ice cream, hot dogs, pizza, funnel cakes and more.

We are planning on going back a few times this summer. We live in the Jackson metro area of Mississippi, so it’s about a 3 hour drive for us, but it makes a great weekend getaway. I highly recommend checking them out! Don’t forget to get your season passes before June 7th as they are on sale until then for only $49.99!!!

Disclosure: I received tickets for my family in exchange for my honest review. I was not compensated for this post. My opinions are 100% my own, and were not influenced in any way.
