This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of VISIT FLORIDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

I grew up in Florida and I have always loved Florida. There is so much to see and do! Have you ever been to Florida? There’s so much more than just theme parks. Although there are a ton of theme parks like Disneyworld, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Universal, and Legoland. They are a ton of fun, but there’s so much history and other attractions in Florida you NEED to visit!

One of my favorite places growing up was Clearwater Beach. The beaches are full of white sand, the water is blue, and plenty of crowd, but not too crowded. There’s a strip to walk up and down to go in shops, to grab a souvenir or an ice cream cone. I think the Gulf of Mexico doesn’t get enough credit as there are some beautiful beaches along the Gulf. Another favorite is Caladesi Island that is close by to Honeymoon Island in Dunedin. It’s about 10 miles North of Clearwater. You can take a ferry out to Caladesi Island and it’s just gorgeous. More white sand, not as crowded, seashells every where, very relaxing and enjoyable.

Key West is another favorite, but it is a long drive after you go through Miami (check out South Beach!). I think people don’t realize how far it is, but it’s worth it. I recommend staying the night if you’re going to Key West! There are a lot of great accomadations down there and you will be able to take your time and enjoy Key West.

One place I had never been to, but would have loved to visit was Captiva Island. I hope to get out there some time when we go back to VISIT FLORIDA with our family. It’s just gorgeous and I have heard so many great things about it. It’s also located on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida, near Sanibel Island about 15 miles West of Fort Myers.
