Welcome to the Chicco Cortina Travel System Review & Giveaway!

Hosted by: Everything Mommyhood and Fun With Four
Co-hosted by: My Four Littles and The Nurse Mommy

A great group of bloggers has come together to offer you this great giveaway for baby! I first want to share with you the review that my lovely blog assistant, Heather from Fun With Four, did for me. It’s a really in depth review, and she did a wonderful job.

The Chicco Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System is loaded with features that will be sure to please both mom and baby. Chicco allows you to keep your child safer longer with the #1-rated infant car seat for infants greater than 22 pounds as the seat accommodates up to 30lbs! There is no lack of sophistication and style when it comes to this travel system!

Chicco has been a leader in enhancing and supporting the pleasure of raising children from pregnancy to preschool for more than 50 years. Found in more than 120 countries, over 6 continents, Chicco has a strong belief that every product must be tried and tested to ensure each of their innovations meets the specific needs of children. Parents, educators, and experts in both medical and scientific fields work closely with Chicco developers to take the happiness of children seriously. By creating products that feed the needs and desires of babies and children, Chicco is able to ensure each one of their innovations meets the specific needs of our little ones in each of their growth phases.

I have always known the Chicco brand to be trustworthy. They design their products to keep babies safe and secure but also keep fashion and design in mind. I mean, what other company puts so much time and effort into the development and research of their products through internal and independent testing facilities? When you receive a product with the Chicco label, you know it’s of the highest quality, safety, value, and style.

Travel SystemIt’s important for me, when purchasing baby gear, to find products that will last as long as possible and meet both my needs but my child’s needs. I yearn for style but yet safety and Chicco encompasses all of that and more. The KeyFit30 infant car seat fits babies from 4 pounds, all the way up to 30 pounds. It’s also the #1-rated infant car seat of greater than 22 pound capacity infant seats. I know a lot of times it is tough for parents to find car seats to fit preemies or accommodate their growing infant past 22 or 25 pounds. Chicco’s KeyFit 30 infant car seat is an investment into a safe, long-lasting item that you can use from newborn to 30 pounds. If you are a parent of a peanut like me, 30 pounds seems like it will take forever! I’m glad that means I don’t have to rush out and purchase another car seat for a long time. This is an item that will last us for a long while!

Car SeatUnlike some infant car seats that have confusing buckles and latch systems, Chicco’s is amazingly simple – even my husband can figure it out! Chicco has made sure the KeyFit30 conforms to Federal Motor Vehicle Standard 213. The chest clip and harness buckle are easy to fasten and unfasten, plus the seat features a one-pull harness tightening and loosening system which allows you to quickly and easily secure your infant into place. The car seat is lined with EPS energy-absorbing foam which makes for a much more comfortable ride for my little Olive. Chicco also includes a Newborn Insert to provide additional support to ensure a secure harness for smaller infants. This should only be used with infants who weigh between 4 and 11 pounds. Chicco also includes a head support to provide additional support for young infant’s heads and neck pads. All of the included supports and pads save the need to buy any other extra supports, which in reality, the only items you should use in your car seat are the ones provided by the manufacturer. The KeyFit 30 infant car seat also features an adjustable and removable canopy with an extendable visor that easily tucks under the canopy. I love anything that easily tucks away and doesn’t need to be stored elsewhere!

BaseLet me explain to you how amazing Chicco has made the LATCH management system for the KeyFit 30. I’ve always dealt with bases that have made me sweat (literally!) during installation and then leave me wondering if they are actually in properly and at the right angle. The innovative LATCH management system that Chicco has developed has a one-pull, centrally located tightening strap and a spring-loaded leveling foot to make installation go from a nightmare to an amazingly uncomplicated process that left me in complete shock. The recline angle on the base can be easily adjusted by pushing the recline buttons while lifting the base. You can rest assured that the base is installed at the proper angle by locating the easy-to-read bubble level guide and checking to see that the bubble is between the arrows. If your vehicle does not have the LATCH feature, like my husband’s 95 Honda Accord, the KeyFit 30 base has storage pockets for LATCH connectors and straps to be stored in. The User Guide is so easy to read and follow to ensure proper installation. It’s advised that you read through it thoroughly before using the car seat. You can store the User Guide in the storage compartment found at the rear of the base.

Installed SeatSimply align the carrier with the base and listen for a click. To remove, simply pull the release handle located just below the canopy and lift. Easy peasy! We are all ready to go!

StrollerNow on to the Cortina stroller! This stroller is loaded with features that make going for walks around the block, on nature trails, or even in the mall, comfortable and convenient.

Parent TrayLocated on the parent tray is a cup holder, compartment with a lid (perfect for change and cell phone) and the mechanism to unfold the stroller with one hand. By simply pulling on the handle, you can open the stroller or close the stroller. It’s so unbelievably fast and uncomplicated. No need to worry about undoing fasteners that hold the stroller together either because once pushed to close, the stroller will automatically latch and stand on it’s own (just remember to apply the brakes first!). I must say, the one-hand fold is great, especially if your other hand is full with baby gear or a baby!

WheelsThe all-wheel suspension helps to create just the right ride for baby. The stroller features brakes on both the front and back wheels. The front swivel wheels can be locked into place when traveling on uneven surfaces such as grass, stones, or gravel.

ReclineThe Chicco Cortina stroller features a multi-position, fully-reclining seat. Not a lot of strollers have the ability to completely recline flat and still allow the large storage basket to be accessible. The stroller is also equipped with Memory Recline, which remembers the position you last left it in before folding. Does your stroller do that??

5 point harnessThere are so many great features to mention, one could go on and on. The stroller canopy is adjustable, removable, and water-repellent. There is a 5-point harness with included neck straps to secure baby, birth to 50 pounds, in place. This means I can use the stroller for either my 16 pound 10 month old or my 40 pound 3 1/2 year old!

HandleHeight adjustable handle that is perfect for the tall and the small, aka my 3 year old who feels the need to push her baby sister at the Farmer’s Market. Lightweight but sturdy aluminum frame. Adjustable leg support and child’s tray with removable tray insert.

Fashion CollectionsThere are many patterns to choose from in Chicco’s fashion collection so you won’t ever have to sacrifice your sense of style once you become a parent. We’ve been extremely pleased with the new Stix fashion collection from Chicco that it makes me want to have another baby. It’s such a wonderful, unisex design that pulls together various tones of grey with a vibrant pop of orange.

Chicco Travel SystemChicco’s Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System is truly an innovative piece of necessary baby gear that every expectant parent should have on their baby registry. The ability to move your sleeping baby from stroller to car to home, undisturbed, is one of the best points of a travel system. The versatility to take this system and travel various landscapes with baby and have it be able to carry all of one’s necessary gear and still offer a smooth ride is applaudable. I have been beyond impressed with the Chicco brand and brag regularly about it’s safety features and design. It’s truly worth every penny. I’m happy to show off our Chicco Cortina Stroller and educate others on the Chicco KeyFit 30 infant car seat’s ability to accommodate an infant up to 30 pounds. The ease of taking the KeyFit 30 car seat and placing it in the Cortina stroller to create the travel system is truly a user-friendly design that makes being a parent, either new or experienced, much easier to navigate!
