5 Unique Bedroom Themes for Your Kids

Striking the balance between your kids’ wildest dreams and their idea of a perfect bedroom, and your budget and home style is a difficult one – though it’s one that all parents have to make.  A great way to do this is not to give your kids total and complete free-range over style, but to set a few themes for them to choose from; that way the cards are all in your hands.  There are a number of great companies out there which offer a large selection of themed kids’ beds, so pick 5 from one site and allow your kids to pick.  Here are 5 unique themes.

1 – Fairy Princess

An all-out fair princess theme doesn’t need to be garish and expensive if you do it in the right way.  A pink princess carriage bed sets the right tone, and a white painted room with a pink accent wall finishes off the basics, along with some white fairy lights and pink rugs.  The trick is to introduce splashes of pink but to not go crazy with it.  For example, a pink carpet is out of the question, but a lilac picture frame and other small tokens could look great.

2 – Space Explorer

Who doesn’t want to be an astronaut or space explorer?  If your kid has a passion for space, embrace it with a bed which looks like the cosmos.  You can go as far as you like with this theme, with a telescope making for a great birthday or Christmas present, too.

3 – Nature Lover

Many experts believe that children in the 21st century don’t have enough exposure to green spaces or nature, so what could be better than by bringing a little bit of nature inside?  A flowery bed and floral patterned wallpaper, combined with some green potted plants could be a great way to get a little bit of greenery into your kids’ lives.  You could also get your kids to look after the plants, teaching them essential life skills.

4 – Race Car Driver

Race car driver is another one of those jobs which many kids would love to do when they grow up, so inspire them with their very own race car-themed room.  There are plenty of race car beds that would make an excellent centrepiece, and painting an accent wall a matching colour will help enhance the theme.

5 – Country Cottage

A final theme could be a quaint country cottage idea for those kids with mature sensibilities.  A chic white wooden bed, floral décor and old fashioned wood furniture will help to bring this theme alive, along with some vintage accessories and fixtures such as rustic lights.
