Visalus – Body by Vi Review & $25 Visa Gift Card Giveaway – ends 1/23

Disclosure: I received a complimentary 2 week sample to facilitate my review.
I’m sure you have heard of Visalus or Body by Vi by now. I heard quite a bit about it before my really good friend Stacy got me to try it for a 2 week period. I just had to tell my readers about it and we are doing a giveaway to go along with it as well. It’s time to get some people aware of a product that REALLY works and helps you lose weight. I’m always skeptical about diets, fads, drinks, pills, etc when it comes to losing weight. Ever since I have had kids it’s been super hard for me to lose weight, and I know about 75% of my readers also have children as well and know what I’m talking about.
visalusshakemixI was sent the 2 week balance kit that included the shake mix and a few different mix ins.

The Visalus Balance Kit is designed to help you begin your journey by giving your body good nutritional balance. This kit contains 30 servings of balanced nutrition with our Vi-Shapeโ„ข Nutritional Shake Mix for once-a-day balanced nutrition. The kit includes an assortment of our Health Flavors, to add flavor variety, and added health benefits to your shake. included is access to our online Health Member website for recipes, menus, nutritional information, exercise tools, and more.

To try it out for 2 weeks, I basically had a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch, mid-morning snack, mid-afternoon snack, and a healthy dinner. There are so many great shake recipes out there on the internet, especially on Pinterest, that you are sure to find some that you really love. I wanted to tell you a few of them that I really love.

A few of my favorite recipes:

Butterfinger Visalus Shake
2 scoops of Visalus Shake Mix
2 Tablespoons of Sugar Free Butterscotch Pudding Mix (the powdered kind)
1 Tablespoon of Reduced Fat Peanut Butter
8-10 oz of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
Cup of ice
Just Blend together and enjoy, OR you can use in a shaker.

Orange Creamsicle Visalus Shake (reminds me of an Orange Julius)
2 scoops of Visalus Shake Mix
6 oz of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
4 oz of Orange Juice (I used the kind with lots of pulp and calcium)
1 Tablespoon of Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding Mix
Cup of Ice
Just Blend together and enjoy, OR you can use in a shaker.

Mixed Berry Visalus Shake
2 scoops of Visalus Shake Mix
8oz of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries
Blend together and enjoy!

Now I’m sure you’re wondering how did it work for me, what did I lose, how much exercise did I do etc etc. I’m not one to sugar coat a product, especially when it comes to weight loss products. This REALLY worked for me. The first week I lost 7lbs, and the second week I lost 5lbs, for a total loss of 12lbs in just 2 weeks. I made healthy, high protein decisions for snacks such as greek yogurt or 3oz of turkey rolled up with a piece of cheese, or I’d grab a handful of grapes, or eat a 100 calorie pack of any of the snacks that are available in your snack aisle at your local supermarket. For dinner, I would eat a lean meat, lots of veggies and a salad. I’d still use my favorite salad dressing, or bbq sauce for my chicken or what have you, but my calories were right around 1300-1400 a day. I wasn’t starving all day or thinking about when I would have the chance to eat next or anything like that. You know the typical things that run through your head when you’re trying to lose weight. If I was hungry, I would just eat a small something. I also drank at least 8 full glasses of water a day, but I tried to drink more. I didn’t do a whole lot of exercising, just chasing my two girls around who are 2 and 5, going for walks at night, and taking them to the park. I was definitely more active and felt awesome.

I 100% back this product, and I plan to start the 90 day challenge soon. My friend Stacy did the 90 day challenge and she did SO awesome, her results and story are what made me try this wonderful product. In December 2011, she found out she was pregnant with her first child and she gained 60+ lbs. After having her baby she realized how difficult it really was to lose the baby weight, so one of her co-workers told her about this wonderful product and she was hooked too. I just have to share with you her 90 day challenge before and after pic!
Isn’t it amazing! It’s a product that REALLY works. She was going to the gym and doing a shake in the morning, mid-morning snack, shake for lunch, and a mid-afternoon snack. In her first 90 days she lost a total of 27lbs! Of course she was also replacing fat with muscle since she was working out, she has continued the program and promotes it all over central Florida. If you’re interested in Body by Vi, I suggest you contact her to be your representative. She will help you, even if you don’t live in FL!
Visit her website: and Like her on Facebook, you can also email her if you have any questions!

  1. Thanks for the chance to win…Have a nice day ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. This looks like a great idea! I’m going to see if anyone wants to try this with me at home! Depending on the cost too!

  3. Angela Higdon says:

I think diets like these are dangerous and counterproductive. If you are eating 1300-1400 calories a day, with the majority of it being shakes, you will either have to eat like that forever, or you will gain as soon as you start eating regular food again. Healthy weight loss should be at a 1-2 lb loss a week rate. And a normal person should eat 1600-2000 calories a day. Daily exercise will get you to the 1400-1500 mark. Its the only way to get the weight off permanently, because its not a diet, its a lifestyle change. Most of us did not get overweight by eating 2000 calories…more like 3000.

    • Stacy Yildiz says:

I always suggest figuring out your bodies caloric needs!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ just because she did that many doesn’t mean you will! It’s a safe way to lose weight, and after you are ready to make healthy eating choices because of the healthy snacks and dinners you are choosing while on the shakes! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. What happens when you are finished losing weight and go back to your normal routine? What do you replace the shakes with to prevent you from gaining that weight back?

    • Stacy Yildiz says:

Like any lifestyle change, you will have to continue to make good choices!! They do make the balance kit which is what everything mommy hood got, so instead of doing 2 shakes a day you can do just one. However, you do not have to do the balance kit.. Just continue making healthy choices like you will be doing! Great question!

  5. I am not currently trying to lose weight but if I am ever I will consider this for sure! The results are awesome~congrats to you and to your friend Stacy…and yes losing baby weight can be a long term nightmare!!! (took me a few years to lose mine after my second baby). Also the recipes for the different shakes sound delicious, I haven’t ever made it very long when using other weight loss shakes or diet food due to the taste so this sounds easier to use as well.

  6. the shake mixes sure make it easy to stay on track. They sound delicious! and congratulations on the weight loss!!

  7. Congrats on the weight loss! I was wondering about the cost, servings per pkg & how is this different than slim fast (which didn’t do much for me even though I liked it)?

    • Stacy Yildiz says:

Great question!! There are many different kits to chose from , so prices vary.. However, everything mommyhood’s sample was basically 1.63 per shake. So less than 4 dollars a day! It is WAY different from slim fast!! It is a base flavor of sweet cream, and you can add many mix ins to make it any flavor! You can even just have it plain with almond milk and the powder! But there are 1000s of recipes!!

  8. Love this post and I am definitely going to be checking this out for myself. I honestly never had issues losing the weight after my 2 kids…. that was easy, but I turned 39 and found out I had Graves Disease, an overactive thyroid… and you lose weight without trying (i had lost 25 pounds without trying in a month or so, so my mom has Graves Disease and when I lost all of that weight like that… I knew something was off and had my doctor run tests for my thyroid & sure enough I had been the one to have the thyroid issue passed down to me)… it sounds great to lose all of that weight and believe me I loved it too……but it is dangerous… your heart rate is too fast (up to 200 beats per minute at times) and everything is off… it sounds great but your body is damaged because of it, emphasis on your poor little heart. So… I took medication to actually kill off part of my thyroid to slow it down… with the hopes that my thyroid would become hypoactive instead of hyperactive… hypoactive means it is not doing enough…. and it is hard to not gain weight… well the medication worked and I have added on 30 pounds that i cannot shake! This seems like a healthy , safe alternative to assist me in my journey to loose these extra 30 pounds… Thanks so much and appreciate your lovely blog!!!

  9. lynn buttedal says:

wow this sounds great! going to try!

  10. Although this looks interesting, I do prefer to do everything all natural, with natural conditioning, no supplements at all. I’m sure this works wonders for some, but in the long run, it may cause more harm than good.

  11. That sounds tasty. I don’t need to lose weight, I would try it as a vitamin supplement. I don’t eat much. Sometimes, I forget to eat for a couple of days so I know I need vitamins.

  12. Thank for the chance to win $25.00 Visa gift card! The shake recipes are appreciated!!

  13. You look fabulous! Congrats on your persistence and success!

  14. That is awesome – I am now tempted to contact because I live in Orlando-area! I am currently trying one with my husband and we just started it this week – once I get to the point of frustration or tired I will try her’s appreciate it and tell Stacy she looks great!

    • Thank you so much!! I actually have a comparison chart of all other shake supplements and I have to tell you …. Visalus is better!! Cheaper… And more recipe options!!! Good luck! Let me know if you would like to meet up and try a sample since you are so close! I’m in Apopka!

  15. Congrats on your results! I am personally afraid of diets like these, as I don’t want to have to eat like that forever just to stay thin, especially if I spent a lot of time working out etc.

  16. I would buy groceries at Walmart or Target ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. You look great, congrats on your weight loss. The shake recipes sound great, I just don’t know if I could
stick with just shakes for two meals.

  18. Renee Patterson Travis says:

This looks great, but I am wondering about the health benefits if you are taking certain types of medication. I am going to have to check in to this!

    • Stacy Yildiz says:

If you want to email me directly I can help you with your search! I know this product helps many people on all kinds of medication! It even helps get rid of some medications! Email with specifics and I will help you! ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks for the message!

  19. I would let my 5 year old grandson pick something out for himself. He will have fun shopping!

  20. Your friend looks amazing….good for both of you on your weight loss.

  21. Jo-Ann Brightman says:

I think it is great that your friend has found a program that works so well for her and wants to help others lose weight too.

  22. Linda Szymoniak says:

I have five Treeing Walker Coonhounds and they go through a LOT of kibble. This $25 card would be enough to get a bag of dog food for my babies!

  23. Crystal Brummett says:

Congrats on your weight loss dear! I have a friend that sells this and I wondered if it really worked.. So thank you for sharing your experience with it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. I’ve been wanting to check this out and I’ve been doing a lot of research on it, trying to see other people’s opinions. I’m glad you got positive results! Thanks for being a guinea pig!

  25. Michelle W. says:

I am so inspired. Thanks for sharing your story.

  26. I’ve started to loose weight you look great in the photo . If it really works I might try

    • Paula, I do exercise, and make good choices of the food I eat, just like you have to to lose weight.. The shakes are an added bonus and taste so yummy! They can even be more like smoothies if you are sick of milk, you can use oj!! So good’

  27. annie page says:

It does sound like an easy way to lose weight and making the shakes like you did makes you have a better chance on sticking to the diet

  28. Tanya Holland says:

I’m always skeptical about any supplements that are supposed to help you lose weight. It does sound like an easy way to lose weight but I love real food.

  29. I would use it to purchase diapers & wipes. I will be blessed with twin girl grand babies this spring !!

  30. Lynne Clark says:

I gained 10+ pounds since Thanksgiving (my husband LOST 5 pounds!! stinker!) I’d love to try this product to see if I could get out of these sweat pants and back into my jeans LOL
Your shake recipes sound AMAZING! I might try them, even without the product.
    Congrats for your weightloss too!

  31. I’m glad that this works for some people. I personally would never use a diet that involves using shakes for 2 of my 3 major meals. If I ever decide to have the motivation to lose weight, I will do it the sensible way. I will eat healthy and exercise. This is the healthiest, tried and true method. I know that it’s not the easiest way, but definitely the healthiest!

  32. I’m not crazy about using anything sugar free like the puddings since they probably have chemical sugars added. I’d like to know how it works without all the working out too. I know someone who sells this and she works out like crazy. I’d love to hear someone’s experience with only doing the shakes.

    • I didn’t work out at all. I just walked once a day around the neighborhood and played with my kids at the park and still lost weight in the 2 weeks that I did it.

  33. Wow awesome results!! I would love to try this it sounds easy to follow and the results are incredible! Thanks for the review!!

  34. laurie damrose says:

these flavors sound more like candy than a boring shake.Good luck with your weight loss adventure.

  35. Your shake recipes sound great. Congrats to you and your friend for taking control of your bodies while you are still young! The years of regular exercise and watching my weight when I was young have helped me deal with the health issues I have now that I am old.

  36. I’ve never tried a weight loss shake mix, but the recipes you post hear sound very delicious.

  37. Connie Lee says:

I would buy groceries or gas or go out for a dinner with the gc.

  38. Actually, I hadn’t heard of this at all! Kudos and congrats to you.

  39. Jennifer T. says:

I would probably buy books with the gift card!

  40. I’m glad it worked for you. I never tried any of the ‘diet’ or ‘lose weight’ types of plans or products. Since I am diabetic and have other health issues, the number of medications I take sometimes get interfered with from eating or not eating certain foods. I hope you 90 day challenge goes good.

  41. I’d probably shop online. Amazon is my favorite place to shop.

  42. I’ll use it for my phone bill. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks!

  43. eyshon salahuddin says:

I will leave it in my wallet. By being an on-the-go mom you always need just in case money

  44. Congrats on your results! You look amazing you should be very proud of yourself ๐Ÿ™‚

  56. The results look great. I don’t think it is the best way to go with meal replacers and shakes. BUt it is surely undeniable that there was a change!

  57. Valerie Guerrero says:

congratulations on your weight loss but as for me i want to gain a couple pounds not lose them

  58. Margaret Smith says:

I give you so much credit for all your hard work.
I’d use the gift card towards having a family day at the movies. It’s been a long time since we went to the movies with our kids and it would be fun.
    Thanks so much.

  59. Patricia Dugan says:

The shakes sound delicious! I’m always trying to lose weight. Probably because I’ve always been a “big girl.” I stopped doing fad diets years ago, but find that some new products can be very helpful when first starting out. Once you get used to doing without sugar (or so much sugar) regulating amounts, etc., then it’s easier to continue.

  60. WOW O.O That’s amazing!

  61. I would use the gift card for groceries and household items. Thank you for the chance!

  62. You look amazing. Congrats on your weight loss.

    abfantom at yahoo dot com

  64. Suzanne K says:

Hmm, tough choice! I’d be torn between buying groceries or taking myself and a friend out for a nice lunch (love those 2/$20 deals!).

  65. I would put it towards a much needed date night with the husband! A night out alone sounds amazing!

  66. Melissa Marinho says:

Congrats on the weight loss! I got a trial packet of this about a year ago, and like you, are very skeptical of diet supplements. There are SO MANY out there, and which ones actually work?! Everybody is different, so it’s hard to chose one based on reviews alone, but by reviewing, I can at least see if the product does actually work for someone. Glad t see it did. I’ll have to check it out!

  67. Lia Becas Jacobsen says:

I would use the card to buy healthy groceries! Thanks for the chance! ๐Ÿ™‚

  68. Lia Becas Jacobsen says:

Congrats on looking so fabulous! Keep up the good work. Perseverance pays off! ๐Ÿ™‚

  69. Diapers

  70. I would definitely get a walker toy for my daughter, the one we have tends to flip because it’s too light – and she’s a tiny baby!

  71. Right now I’m trying to GAIN weight. I do like drinking shakes & smoothies. Good luck on your journey.

  72. I could probably do it, depending on if the smoothies tasted good or not. . . and if I could ignore my junk and fast food cravings.

  73. I would save the Visa for when my family travels this summer.

  74. Seeing the results in the pics is wonderful. Using the shakes makes it easy enough and sensibly adding a little work out such as walking and running after the kids would be adding to the success of weight loss. I need to lose 28 pounds and I’m definitely going to think about this. The recipes for shakes sound delicious, especially the Orange Creamsicle. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the post and sharing.
    Carol L

  75. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity. I’d give it to my daughter to buy books off her Amazon wish list for her Birthday.
    Carol L

The gift card would be nice to win.

  81. I would use it to go toward the new camera I am saving up to get!

  82. I would use it towards groceries.

  90. Jennifer Johansen says:

Wow, she looks so happy in the after picture! I hope she feels as good as she looks!

  91. Rebecca L says:

I would buy some fruits and vegetables with my $25.

  92. natalie parvis says:

I would use it for groceries. I’m on workers comp right now and struggling.

  93. natalie parvis says:

I unload these from trucks at UPS sometimes. The boxes are light but there are like 10,000 of them in a truck and I have to get it done in an hour and a half. LOL. So, I guess you could say that Visalus already helps me stay in shape.

  94. Chrystal D says:

I’d use this toward either groceries or pet foods. With all the animals I have I go through a LOT of dog & cat foods!

  95. Elizabeth says:

I started using the shake mix after trying some at my mom’s house. Your Mixed Berry Visalus Shake is pretty much my go to breakfast now-its tasty and light enough for mornings, but I don’t feel hungry until lunch, which is excellent.

  96. Elizabeth says:

If I won the gift card…I’d probably use it to buy groceries ๐Ÿ™‚ I got to the grocery store probably twice a week (to different stores) to get fresh produce.

  101. Chevy Reid Roper says:

I would save it for when needed. I have 2 kids with birthdays coming up soon. This would greatly help!

  102. Thanks so much for hosting this giveaway! I’m constantly in and out of Walmart, so this would definitely help!

  103. I’d use this GC towards new jeans. And maybe a pair or two of undies. ๐Ÿ™‚

  104. If I won the $25 Visa gift card, I would do one of two things:

1 – Either give it to our oldest, who is a senior in college. She could definitely use it for gas money. Or,…

2 – Buy some Legos for our two youngest kids.

  105. I would send it to my daughter. She is serving in Americorps and living on next to nothing. I know she’d appreciate being able to pick up a little something extra.

  106. christine burd says:

I would treat my hubby to lunch at my fav restaurant or give it to my daughter for gas money

  107. First off I have to say you look freaking amazing!!! Second. I would use this giftcard to just buy some healthy snacks. I am always on the go and end up eating unhealthy fast food! Not because I want to I honestly detest fried foods but its convenient! I would take that step.

  108. kathy pease says:

I would probably give it to my teen son. I am sure he would use it for gas money ๐Ÿ™‚

  109. kathy pease says:
