National Girl Scouts Cookie Weekend – Coming Soon! #CookieBoss

SharplogoAlhough I am being compensated for this post, all opinions are those of my own. I am sharing this post on behalf of my affiliation with the Mom it Forward Blogger Network.

When I was growing up, I was an active member of Girl Scouts. It was the after school activity that I looked forward to the most. I started girl scouts from the young age of 5 as a Daisy and I attended all the way up through Elementary School as a Brownie and some of Middle School as a Junior. Throughout my 7 years of being a girl scout, I learned so many life skills. We learned how to respect others, help others in need, dedication, and other people skills. Although, Girl Scouts have 5 set skills that they teach young girls that are essential for life, goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. We did a lot of work throughout the community too, we visited nursing homes, helped the needy, hosted charity car washes and much more. I feel so honored that I was once a member of such a great organization.

thinmintSome of my fondest memories of being a Girl Scout was cookie time. Selling cookies. Although that was 20-25 years ago, I still remember it like it was yesterday. I actually have my trophies still from when I was second and third place in selling the most cookies. My favorite has always been the thin mints, and almost everyone I know loves them so much. Next weekend, starting February 7th is National Girl Scouts Cookie Weekend. Save the Date! Check out the Cookie Program Page.
nationalgirlscoutcookieWhat that means is you will see Girl Scouts out and about selling cookies at local businesses or even door to door in your neighborhood! You can purchase your favorite cookies, whether it’s Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, Samoas, or some of their other yummy flavors (Note: flavors are sometimes a different name in different regions)! They are learning valuable life skills by selling cookies, money management, and of course people skills, so remember that when you’re out and see a Girl Scout.
