Seventh Generation – Toxin Freedom Fighters #MC #FightToxins

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Seventh Generation. I received a promotional item and product samples as a thank you for participating”

Everything Mommyhood has teamed up with Seventh Generation to help spread awareness about the importance of chemical reform in the United States. Everything these days seems to have chemicals and unhealthy additives in it, and they are around every corner we turn. Raising two girls, I have become increasingly health conscious when it comes to decisions I make for my girls, and my family. There are so many brand out there using ingredients in products that they shouldn’t be allowed to use. In other countries outside of the U.S., many of the ingredients that we use here in the U.S. are banned in other countries. That really tells you something! We are not on top of our health, and the government should be acting upon it. In the meantime, it’s important for us consumers to make a stand and do our part.

toxins

Did you know that there are over 80,000 chemicals available in the United States that have never been fully tested for their toxic effects on our health and environment? The EPA has required testing on less than 10% of these nasty chemicals. These chemicals are found in toys and other children’s products, cleaning and personal care items, furniture, electronics, food and beverage containers, building materials, fabrics, and car interiors. We are being exposed to these chemicals on a daily basis, along with our children.  Our children touch everything, put everything in their mouths, these chemicals really are some scary stuff. Scientists have linked exposure to toxic chemicals to many health risks, such as Cancer, Alzheimer’s, learning disabilities, asthma, birth defects, and various reproductive problems. I don’t want my children exposed to these health risks. I want to keep my children safe and as healthy as possible.
For additional information to learn more visit the Natural Resources Defense Council website.

I’ve already started a few different things around my home to try and protect my children. I buy a lot of wooden toys for them, versus plastic. We buy a lot of organic food and organic, plant based cleaners, including Seventh Generation products. I know we can do more, but I have started here and there with replacing our daily used products to try and protect my children the best I can.

What can I do to become a toxin freedom fighter???
You can become a Toxin Freedom Fighter by signing Seventh Generation’s petition to urge Congress to reevaluate the Toxic Substances Control Act for the first time since 1976. Click on the badge above, and join me by becoming a Toxin Freedom Fighter.

Seventh Generation cares because they have been working for 25 years to bring consumers plant derived cleaning products. They are hoping to make a change for all of us, that’s why they created the petition I mentioned above. I signed it, and so can you in a matter of less than a minute, YOU can make a difference.  Can they collect 100,000 signatures by April 24th? Let’s show Congress, that us consumers care about our health.

Will you take a stand with me and sign the petition to #FightToxins???

I do not like using chemicals in my house and Seventh Generation products are really good at helping me to keep my house clean. I like the dishwashing liquid that I got this week at Target for .99 cents with coupons. It is a big bottle. I have also used their paper towels.

  10. I hate chemicals. Thank you for sharing.
