Pill Terminator Review & $250 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway – ends 5/16 #ad

This is a sponsored campaign with Mums the Word Network and Pill Terminator. All opinions are my own.

#ad About a month ago I was sent a product to test out for a review, the Pill Terminator. I have a lot of old medications and vitamins to get rid of and I hate just throwing them in the trash because that’s not safe. You don’t want someone getting a hold of your old medication, like a child or even a pet. It could really hurt them or even cause death. You aren’t supposed to flush them down a toilet or melt them down in a sink either as this will contaminate your municipal water supply. The Pill Terminator provides a safe and easy way to dispose of your medications, and it’s easy to use!

As you can see on the bottles, it’s very simple instructions. Add your meds to a certain line, fill with warm water to the line, shake, and then throw in the trash. It’s THAT simple!
Check out HOW EASY it was for me! It took me just a couple minutes!

Anyone can do this with their meds and dispose of them the right way, even the elderly could do this with no problem. I think this is a great product and more people need to be aware about the dangers of disposing their medication any other way.

  1. Natalie Brown says:

Hi! I have a chronic illness & doctors are always changing my medications. Because of this, I have leftover or unused medications. I think it would really help me to feel better about how I dispose of them. Thank-you!!

  2. That’s funny, I was just wondering about this the other day. I don’t want to throw old meds out or put them down the drain. Our pharmacy won’t take them either.

  3. They had so many skits about flushing illegal drugs down the toilet back in the ’70s that I never realized it could harm the water supply. Your product is filling a vital need, and I commend you for coming up with it.

  4. Krystal Waters says:

I can clean out a lot of old medications out of the cabinet.

  5. Easily done & throw away solution out of harms way,,surely help to keep track of meds needed ….

  6. Rebecca Wilson says:

Due to several medical conditions I always have medications around that I am no longer taking and I can never keep track of the days the police department does their drug round ups so this would be so convenient for me.

  7. Sally T. says:

I can clean out my meds.

  8. I would be able to safely get rid of old meds without worrying about my grandkids finding them and thinking they would be cool taking drugs.

  9. The Pill Terminator would save me a trip to the pharmacy to dispose of old, unneeded medications It would also keep the cabinets clear of expired medications too 🙂

  10. What a great product! This will be perfect for our family. I was recently prescribed a 90-day supply of a medication that my dr took me off of after a week! I have a ton left to dispose of!

  11. ellen beck says:

My husband and I both take meds and sometimes scripts are changed. This would be very helpful. I dont flush meds because I know it goes into the water supply and wait for our towns yearly time to dispose of meds and other chemicals. This would come in handy so they can be disposed of when we need to.

  12. Birdiebee says:

It will help save our water supply as well as trips to the local police department to dispose of all of the medications that I have had trouble taking.

  13. This is really cool. Two of my kids take a lot of pills because they’re both epileptic with some other medical issues and I do have to throw extras away when they change meds and stuff. This would be an awesome solution.

  14. I have a neighbor who recently passed away and had no family. We helped clean out his house and found a whole box of pills and paper bags full of pills. we have them stored away but not sure how to dispose of them.

  15. Priscilla says:

It would be a great help in cleaning out the medicine cabinet. It would be nice to know that I am disposing of meds and pain killers properly.

  16. Dorothy Teel says:

I think that this is a great idea and it will save our water supplies, I wish something like this was available years ago when I was a nurse and had to destroy medications, was a mess. Thankfully, we hardly use medications here now, retired and knock on wood pretty healthy but I like this idea.

  17. I did not even think about this. It will help me dispose of my old pills safely. I knew I was hanging onto them for some reason. Thank you for this chance to win!

  18. It will afford me the opportunity to safely dispose of old meds.

  19. It would allow my family a safe, easier way to dispose of our old medications.

  20. I was just wondering how to dispose of them the other day and this would be a great solution.

  21. it would help me dispose of the extra pills that we have .

  22. Debbie Clauer says:

It made me realize that flushing pills down the toilet is harmful.

  23. Linda Szymoniak says:

We actually don’t use many prescription medications at our house – however that doesn’t mean you don’t use any, and I’ve always been concerned with the disposal of unused medications. I know that some pharmacies will actually accept unused medications for proper disposal, but not all do and it’s not always convenient. My husband had treatment for cancer a while back, and when his doctor took him off his medications, it left us with nearly full bottles of pills. I really wish this product had been available when I was trying to dispose of these pills. I finally found a pharmacy to take them, but would have really preferred the convenience of the Pill Terminator.

  24. katrina c. says:

This is such a great way to clean out the medicine cabinet! We had a bunch of half used meds that had been in our cupboards for years, because I wasnt sure about the best way to dispose of them! Works great!

  25. Jo-Ann Brightman says:

This is really a great way to safely dispose of medications. I have several that I have been afraid to throw out because of the damage they might do to the environment. Thanks for the info.

  26. rebeka deleon says:

My husband got into a car accident and has so many leftover pills from a back injury. this would help dispose of them in a good way that won’t effect anyone.

  27. Colleen Maurina says:

I am doing some spring cleaning and was wondering how to dispose of old outdated prescriptions in a safe way. This would be a great solution.

  28. sherry1969 says:

It will help me get rid of pills I don’t need anymore and that I’m allergic to.

  29. I have some old pain medication that needs to be destroyed! Pill Terminator would be perfect!

  30. I am on daily prescription meds that I have to take for life due to some illnesses so I would need to use this when I have to change meds or have meds that are prescribed for temporary medical issues. It would greatly help so I don’t have to worry about dumping the extra pills in the trash or in the toilet.

  31. Marti Tabora says:

I think it would be great for me. I do have a few old prescriptions that it would be nice to get rid of safely. My mother has some too that she could do away with. What a great idea.

  32. nancyfancypink says:

It would be nice to get rid of our old medication s in a safe way so our children won’t get to them.

  33. That is a nifty way to dispose of pills as there’s no proper way to get ride of them and prescription collections only happen so often.

  34. This is a great way to dispose of unneeded medications. I am responsible for not only my own medications but those of two other people who often have medication changes and leftover/unneeded pills. This would be a big help in disposing of them.

  35. Sandy Cain says:

This would benefit me because we do have a lot of old prescription meds here, that I keep staring at, wondering what to do with. There are 3 of us here, and we all take a lot of meds, and they are always being changed around by the doctors. I know not to flush them or just toss them in the trash. This would sure free up a lot of space in the medicine chest! Great product!

  36. I could use this to clean out my medicine cabinet.

  37. The Pill Terminator would definitely help me by keeping track of medicines, prescription and over-the-counter, that are expired and need to be disposed of!

  38. Rita Leonard says:

it would be nice to get rid of the old medication without harming the environment

  39. I take a number of prescriptions and they get changed often, so I have a few dozen bottles of prescriptions that are old, that I don’t use…I don’t toss them in the trash or flush them because I know it’s not safe. This would be perfect!

  40. Danielle Papsis says:

It would help dispose of old medications and keep them out of our water supply.

  41. We have just a few old pills in need of disposal. If we don’t get them to the recycle point at the police station, this product might b e helpful.

  42. Michelle Salais says:

Wow. The things people think of and invent. The Pill Terminator would be a great thing for my grandma. She is always worried about her unused pills lying around and the grand kids getting to them. She usually just flushes them down the toilet, but that can’t be good either.

  43. This is great! We could really use this at our house. We have several partial prescriptions that we no longer take. I have them locked in the safe until our local pharmacy has a pill turn in day. I would love this for us. Then I could just dispose of them when I wanted to.

  44. Michelle Salais says:

The pill terminator will benefit me by having it handy for when I want to get rid of my leftover meds or my animals old meds lying around, so that my nieces don’t ever get to them. Also, so I’m not flushing them anymore and contaminating the water system.

  45. I never thought about my old pills and what to do with them so this would be really helpful especially since I have an 18 month old who wants to get into everything!

  46. Beanybopp says:

It would benefit our family because we dont tend to use much medications, so we usually have a few bottles that have expired that need to be thrown away. Our community only does those “safe disposal” drives once or twice a year and I really dont want to have medication just sitting around the house til then so I usually end up putting pills in coffee grounds and liquids in used/old cat litter. My thing is that they are still going into landfills and into the environment. This is such a better way to get rid of medications.

  47. Christina Easter says:

I am on several different prescriptions and I usually have old medications to dispose of. Now that I have a toddler, I have to be extra careful with them, and I think that Pill Terminator would really help keep things safe around my house!

  48. It will help get rid of old medication I have and not worry about overdosing if the pills are found in the trash.

  49. will help keep pharmaceuticals out of our streams and away from our kids

  50. I have another easy way for you to get rid of any pills you need especially narcotics, send them my way hardy har 🙂 just joking, this is a great idea though.

  51. I’ve been ill for years with Lyme Disease and I have boxes filled with old prescriptions. This would allow me to clean out before I have more boxes of failed remedies. Thanks for a great giveaway!

  52. I think the Pill Terminator will be a great benefit to me in helping me dispose of left over/expired medication and supplements. Thank you for sharing this post.

  53. Kymn Ligi says:

I still have meds in my cabinets that I don’t feel comfortable just tossing in the trash, I would make great use of this.

  54. Lisa Gonzalez says:

I have sooo many old supplements and rx bottles in my bathroom cabinet. My kids are too small to reach them now but will not.be little forever. I know I need t get rid of them the right way.

  55. Jennifer G. says:

Saving the environment and children from mistakenly eating them 🙂

  56. slehan says:

I just missed the day my pharmacy had for taking back old pills. Now I can use this.
    Thanks for the contest.

  57. I have some old allergy medications I’m no longer taking, so I would use this if I win.

  58. carol clark says:

i have old pills i need to get rid of and this would help me out alot

  59. Kelly O' says:

I have A LOT of pills, I tend to keep them in my cabinet. In fact I have one bottle of antibiotics from 2001. They have “turn in medication Day” at our local hospital, but I just never seem to get there.

  60. Paula Varble says:

It would make me feel safe in tossing the pills. I’ve never put them down the sink but I don’t like tossing them.

  61. April A says:

I have 5 littles and it scares me to throw away old medication for fear that one of them will find them. So I could really benefit from Pill Terminator.

  62. Susan Campbell says:

I work as an RN in a hospital, and I am very aware of this problem. What a great idea for home use. I’ll be passing the info along at the hospital. Good job!!!

  63. I have a lot of old prescriptions and old vitamin supplements that I want to get rid of but didn’t want to just put them in the trash, so this will help me feel like I’m getting rid of those meds in a safe way.

  64. Lesley M says:

My medicine cabinter has several old medications in it. I would love to safely dispose of them, so that I know my children will not get into them by accident!

  65. Kimberley Thomas says:

The pill terminator will save our water supply with safe disposal it won’t be an accident waiting to happen !

  66. My mother in law would love this. She is on a lot of medicatiins for various things and when they change her prescriptions she doesnt have a safe way to throw them out.

  67. I take care of my Dad and clean out his medicine cabinet at least twice a year. Right now I bring his expired/unwanted meds home and hang on to them until there is a disposal event at the hospital. I always freak a little, thinking cops are going to find his meds at my house and accuse me of stealing them. (is there a black market for blood pressure medicine? you never know…..) This would be great so I could get rid of them on the spot!

  68. rebecca says:

I love this idea! My husband has many medications where the dosages have changed or the medication has… This is a GREAT way to properly dispose of them. Too bad I would need about 10 of these every 6 months!

  69. Heidi F says:

I like to have some things on hand, but we dont use enough to use the entire bottle and thiswould be great to get rid of leftovers!

  70. The Pill Terminator will definitely benefit me because my does of Prednisone are always changing and I am always throwing away meds in the trash which I knew I shouldn’t be doing!!

  71. Natalie says:

It will help me have a peace of mind knowing that my meds are not harming the environment.

  72. Kelly Greenwood says:

It’ll help me get rid of some expired medication, that’s taking up space in my medicine cabinet.

  73. Laura P. says:

My mother in law passed away fairly recently due to lung cancer and we have a lot of medications that we don’t know what to do with.

  74. I don’t know how it will affect me, since I don’t have many meds laying around, but I think it’s a good idea in general. I totally agree with what the previous commenter wrote though, it would have been really great to have had this when my grandfather died, as there were a lot of meds to get rid of, so I will definitely keep this product in the back of my mind for when the need arises.

Thanks so much for having this giveaway! 🙂

  75. Erika W. says:

We actually have a box of pills from when my husband was in the military that I’ve been waiting to get rid of when the police do one of their pill roundups but this would be awesome so they’re not in the house anymore. I just want them gone!

  76. I don’t currently have any prescription medications for humans that I need to dispose of but I often foster companion animals from the shelter who require medication. I imagine that pet meds could be just as detrimental to the environment as those for people so I could definitely use the Pill Terminator to safely dispose of them.

  77. I have several prescriptions that I have been just hanging on to because I don’t know what to do with them

  78. Gayle S says:

I have several chronic health conditions and have not always been lucky enough to respond to the first medication. Obviously, this leaves me with the problem of how to dispose of the unused portion. Because I have never been sure of how to properly dispose of the leftovers I have accumulated a good amount I need to get rid of and the Pill Terminator is the answer to my problem.

  79. Becky Richied says:

It would make me feel safer to dispose of my old perscriptions like this to save my grandchildren from grabbing them and taking them

  80. Sherrie C. says:

It have old pills I need to get rid of and grandchildren that visit me regularly. It would give me peace of mind to be able to get rid of my medications safely without worrying that these pills could end up in my grandchildren’s hands or in landfills and streams.
