Dropcam was developed by co-founders Greg Duffy and Aamir Virani after Greg’s father desperately wanted to figure out which local dog was making a mess of his yard. He began hooking up IP camera’s but was having trouble getting the system to work just right and that storing video on his hard drive wasn’t an easy or secure solution. Greg was immediately interested in solving his dads dilemma and called his friend Aamir to talk through the problem. They began throwing around the idea around soon connected with tech pioneer Mitch Kapor who decided to fun the initial development which resulted in the launch of Dropcam in 2009. Now Dropcam is widely used around the country to “drop in” on their babies, pets, and even to catch unsuspecting thieves.
The Dropcam Pro is Dropcam’s newest of camera models and perhaps their greatest! With a 130 degree field of view, a 8X zoom capability, night vision and audio, the Dropcam Pro is the perfect addition to any home or business to help keep an extra set an eyes on your valuables. One of my favorite things about the Dropcam Pro is that right from your smart phone you can turn the camera on and off and receive text or email notifications of movement and audio! We personally use our Dropcam Pro at home to keep an eye on the dogs when we are out and about and I love that the camera sends me a text message when there is movement, it’s very helpful to see if the dogs are at the door barking at something and to watch to make sure no intruders enter the home!

  1. I would use the dropcam for either seeing whose at my door or while I’m on vacation. I would also like to know who keeps flicking cigarettes on my lawn….lol!

  2. Sherrie C. says:

I would use the Dropcam for security purposes. For instance, to see who is knocking at my door or if anyone is in my yard. One of my neighbors has been letting their dogs do their ‘business’ on my lawn and I’d love to be able to catch them on camera because it’s becoming quite annoying.

  3. Lilia Kharabora says:

I would use the Dropcam for my high risk newborn 🙂 Thank you

  4. I’d use it to monitor my property and to see who’s at the door.

  5. I would use the Dropcam for when my granddaughter comes to visit.

  6. Dorothy Boucher says:

this would definitely be used for my grand-daughters 🙂 thanks

  7. angie ukena says:

I would watch my baby in her crib, I am on .everythingmommyhood.com

  8. Beanybopp says:

I would “drop in on” our son…he will be in a big boy bed VERY soon and it would be nice to have a visual instead of just audio to see what the little one is up to….quiet is not always a good sign. 🙂

  9. I would use the dropcam to see if my dog has overcome his separation anxiety when we leave him alone at home.

  10. We have a drop cam that we use as a video monitor in our daughter’s room. It’s nice to be able to check in when she is sleeping and since you can talk through the camera, I can tell my toddler to lay down or get back in bed 🙂

I would use the dropcam to watch my baby in his crib.

You can either microwave it or cook in a skillet for a crispier texture. I … [Read More...]

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Progresso. All thought and opinions are those of our own. Being a mom and always being on the go is a rough and tiring job, by the time dinner comes around I know I'm already exhausted and wanting to head to bed...but you know, kids, they want dinner. Some of those nights I draw a blank on what we should have for dinner, or I just completely forgot to thaw something out. Just recently I ran into that … [Read More...]
