  1. “The secret to parenting a teenager without losing it is to pay attention to, and successfully make, the transition from manager to consultant.”

Very well put. I definitely agree that, when I work with teenagers, it’s important to share opinions as a give-and-take/problem solving approach rather than commanding as the “adult/authority/parent.” Thanks for sharing.

  2. My kids would be so happy if I won this! My 8 yr old might be mad though because I finally win something cool and she’s probably too big or will be soon!

I read The 3 Best Tips to Be More Consistent When Disciplining Your Child. It’s very simple, very true and very tough to stick to! Even if something seems small in the moment, if you said you were going to do something a certain way, doing exactly that sends a message that’s more important than whatever that small thing is.

  4. Don’t over regulate and control every situation, I really needed to hear that. Not to have so many rules.

  5. Regina Phalange says:

Children are NOT all the same. Just as we adults are all different and each of us have our own quirks, so do children. It is a huge disservice to my children for me to compare their behaviours to anyone else’s. Sure there are many behaviours that are common and typical…however, each child is unique and will grow and mature and pass their milestones at different rates.

  6. I saw that someone else had a similar revelation about parenting teens — “He no longer needs me to manage every single aspect of his life. What he needs is someone to consult with. Someone to ask questions, get opinions, and bounce ideas off of.”

  7. She will help with the stress in your life and has parenting tips to share

  14. I learned that a good way to monitor your child’s online activity is to require that you have the password, but to always review their site together, with the understanding that you will only use the password in emergency situations.

  15. There are parenting tips.
