Radio Flyer Cyclone Review – Zoom, Spin, & Grin

We were sent a product in exchange for our honest review. All opinions are those of our own and may differ from those of your own.

Everything Mommyhood received the Radio Flyer Cyclone last month, and this, hands down, is my 5 year old daughter’s favorite outside ride on toy. We have a ton of them, and this is her go to choice to ride when we are outside. This ride on toy is a bit different as you don’t use your legs, it’s hand and arm powered which is sure to wear out your little one. It’s recommended for ages 3-7 up to 70lbs. My petite, long legged 5 year old who only weighs 40lbs can do it with ease and no hesitation. She can even do it in the grass, even though it’s a bit more of a workout. The way the Cyclone moves reminds me of our zero turn lawn mower, you can do 360⁰ spins with ease and provides hours of entertainment.

Check out this video of my 5 year old:

Here are some of the Product Features of the Radio Flyer Cyclone:

  • Arm powered action
  • 360⁰ spins
  • Zoom forward or roll in reverse
  • 16″ Wheels for a smooth ride
  • Comfort handgrips guide your ride
  • Solid steel frame
  • Ergonomic seat & frame for a comfort ride
  • Rear caster wheel enhances the fun

Just sit down on the ergonomic comfy seat, put your feet on the platform in front, place your hands on the hand grips and move your hands and arms to roll forward or in reverse. Move both together, or just one to make a turn.

The Radio Flyer Cyclone was easy to put together, but it did take some work from my husband. All we needed was a hammer, screwdriver, and wrench. It only took us about 5 minutes total to get it ready to ride, which in my opinion is great, some items take forever to put together, but not the Cyclone! This was rather easy and my daughter wasn’t impatient waiting since it was such a short time, which is a bonus!

  2. Michelle Salais says:

Oh my goodness! Look at that crazy cool thing. haha! I want one for myself. I bet i’d get a good arm workout.

  3. Maria Iemma says:

My grandson would love to have this…I can see him now rolling down the driveway!

  4. M.Clark says:

The Radio Flyer Cyclone looks like fun, I like that it’s a great upper body workout. So alternating between the Cyclone and a regular bike should be a nice workout. Too bad they don’t make them for adults as well. Thank you for sharing this review.

  5. I remember having a Radio Flyer wagon when I was growing up. Thank you for the giveaway and the review!

  6. oh how nice, that looks like a lot of fun and i’m sure my grandboys would love to try that hhehe, thanks for share

  7. This is the first i’ve seen this toy, and it looks like great fun! and good exercise! I got a chuckle that you say it is sure to wear them out!

  8. This is so cool looking! It looks like a lot of fun! I had TONS of fun with my old Radio Flyer growing up, but it looked nothing like this. 🙂

  9. Kathy Kuykendal says:

I have been a fan on Radio Flyer for 40+ years. I hunt for old vintage ones at flea markets and garage sales to put in my garden to to fix up and give to the children’s rescue groups. My family has the newer plastic versions of their wagons. Once my nephews get a little older I’m sure they would love the Cyclone. Looks like my daughter’s generation of Big wheels.

  10. Christina Gould says:

I think my nephew would like that. He likes anything with wheels. It’s a great price, too. Thanks for sharing!

  11. I like the simple toys like that. It gets kids outside and active instead of sitting indoors with the television.

  12. I remember a similar toy from my childhood, but it had smaller wheels and tipped over easily! I guess they have made a safer version of that!

  13. Sarah Elyce says:

This looks like a lot of fun. I wonder if I would still fit in one. 😉

  14. jenn huey says:

My nephews would have an absolute blast with this. We had the Green Machine growing up and love it. This is the next best thing
