As a mom of two girls it seems I’m always buying clothes. Either one of them has outgrown something, or a new season is here. We have so many clothes, that I don’t know what to do with them all, and I recently came across Loteda. It’s an online market place where you can buy or sell your children’s gently worn clothing, by the lot! I love that you can sell a whole lot, and not have to buy/sell everything piece by piece!

Did you know that on average, US households spend $804/year per child on clothing? That’s a lot of money, especially if you have more than one child. The costs add up quickly. With how fast our children grow and how much they play, why not purchase gently worn clothing! Gently-used clothing is the way to go for all of your children. Save time and money by buying and selling an entire season’s worth of clothes in a single transaction. Loteda has sizes Newborn – 5T/5.

Here’s some great information on how Loteda works and information on How to sell!

SELLERS

1. Earn more money: Most consignment/resale shops and sites payout 10-40% of resale price

At Loteda: Sellers who list themselves (i.e. self-service), earn 90% of resale price

Sellers who have Loteda list for them (i.e. full-service), earn 60% of resale price

2. Convenient: Loteda takes the hassle out of selling online:

Pricing – Loteda will calculate a competitive resale price based on the original retail value, condition/wear, style, season and number of pieces in each lot

Transaction – Loteda will take care of accepting payment from the buyer and will quickly cut the seller a check once the buyer receives their lot

Shipping – Loteda will send a prepaid shipping kit once the lot sells. All the seller has to do is fill the bag and set it out for their mail carrier

3. Save time: For those parents who don’t have time to list themselves, Loteda will send out a free, prepaid shipping bag. Stuff it full of your children’s clothes and send it back for Loteda to list for you. Restrictions apply.

SHOPPERS

1. Save money: Every listing is 70-90% off retail price (thanks to economies of scale (i.e. buying in bulk))

Shipping is included in the list price

2. Save time: Buy all of next season’s clothes in one transaction

Don’t spend hours sifting through overstuffed racks at local resale shops, consignment sales, etc.

3. Convenient: Photo, brand name and the condition are provided for each item in the lot

Returns are easy if you feel the seller misrepresented the quality/condition of the clothes.

Check out the Loteda video for more info!

For Everything Mommyhood readers, Loteda is offering 20% off your total purchase. Use code: Summer20. Hurry, as this Expires 8/31/2014

What are you waiting for? You can now buy or sell a season’s worth of clothing – one listing, one transaction.

  1. That is such a great idea. My daughter outgrows her clothes so fast.

  2. So it’s a consignment shop. That’s a good way to make some money and save on new purchases. I’ve bought and sold at consignment shops before. I’ve picked up a few great items at a good price.

I Think that’s a Great Idea for People who don’t want to Spend a Fortune on Kid’s Clothes their Child will outgrow in a Couple of Months! I Never Understood why people would spend $70 on a Pair of Tennis Shoes or $30 on a T-Shirt for their Child! The Kids generally don’t mind what they wear as long as it’s comfortable! Great Tip & Post! Have a Blessed Day! Jana

Thank you for sharing this website, I am sure that it would be helpful to many parents and a good way to make some cash for new clothes too!

  5. Wow! 90% of the resale price (if you list them yourself) is quite significant! I’ve not heard of such a high commission. This definitely sounds like a place to check out.
