Now that school is back in session that means early mornings all around for everyone. Running this child to preschool and this child to elementary, plus staying up late to blog, and getting up early all over again sure does leave this momma tired. When 5-hour ENERGY® contacted me about trying their product and posting about a fun contest they have, I was ecstatic. Maybe 5-hour ENERGY® was the answer to everything?? I was ready to give it a shot (pun intended)!

I was sent a generous box of a ton of their flavors to try. If you haven’t heard of 5hour ENERGY® or are curious about them, here’s some great information:

5hour ENERGY® shots are dietary supplements that provide hours of energy and alertness
Contain a blend of B-vitamins, amino acids, and essential nutrients
Helps people feel alert and energized for hours
Zero sugar, zero carbs, zero herbal stimulants and 4 calories!
Caffeine in a 5hour ENERGY® shot is comparable to a cup of the leading premium coffee
May consume up to 2 bottles of 5hour ENERGY®, spaced several hours apart. For moderate energy, drink ½ bottle of 5hour ENERGY®

I’ve actually tried a few of them now over the past couple weeks and my favorite is the Pink Lemonade flavor! I have to say they really do give me energy without feeling jittery. It makes me feel alert and energized to get chores done, errands done, etc! I also like that they are a small shot, and it’s not a whole drink you have to chug down. The fact that it’s only 4 calories is a huge plus!

Along with trying their products, I was encouraged to make a drink recipe using a 5-hour ENERGY® for their Yummification Contest (which I’ll tell you about shortly!).

Lemon Lime Soda
Ice Cubes
5-hour ENERGY® Lemon Lime Flavor

Place your ice cubes in a glass, pour in your 5-hour ENERGY® Lemon Lime Shot, and then fill with Lemon Lime Soda.

That’s all you have to do for my yummification drink for the 5-hour ENERGY® contest. Now what is the contest you ask? 5 hour energy worked wonders for me a few years ago. Whenever I needed an energy boost, they would always get me through. I’ve never tried 5 hour energy in soda before, but I guarantee it would be a huge improvement in taste. I used to just gulp these down whole and they were a bit hard to keep down. The taste can be a little much….but from what I’ve heard, the taste has improved since the last time I drank it. Would love to try the new flavors!

  7. I’ve seen this in the store and have been curious about it. I haven’t tried it yet because I’m sensitive to caffeine. I get jittery. I suppose, I could use half a bottle and mix it in a drink.

  8. I have tried 5-hour ENERGY® in the past, but I had no idea that they had so many different flavors. Your Lemon Lime Bomb recipe looks great, I can’t wait to try it. Thank you for sharing this post.
