WWE Community Outreach Programs – #Sponsored

This post is sponsored by WWE. All thoughts and opinions are those of my own and may different from yours.

We all know how important it is to give back to our community and volunteer. Unfortunately, not a lot of us do it, or feel we have the time to do it. Our lives are busy, but it’s really important to help out in the community and take time out to do so. That’s what I love about the WWE Community. They have so many wonderful programs and foundations that they support to positively impact children and families.

WWE is committed to leveraging the power of its brand and platforms to help address important social issues worldwide including diversity and inclusion, education, military support and providing hope to those in need. Through partnerships with Ad Council, GLAAD, Hire Heroes USA, Make-A-Wish, Pearson Foundation, Special Olympics Connecticut, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, The Creative Coalition and USO, WWE supports programs and initiatives that positively impact children and families around the world.

One of my favorite programs is Rise Above Cancer to support the Susan G. Komen foundation. This program is near and dear to me as my Grandmother is a survivor of breast cancer and I do anything and everything I can to help support the Susan G. Komen foundation. I’m glad to see the WWE partnering with a wonderful foundation to help raise money to fight breast cancer.

Another great program is the WrestleMania Reading Challenge. It’s so important for our children to have books and to learn how to read. Reading is such an amazing thing that will help your child with comprehension, spelling, vocabulary and more. I’m a huge advocate for pushing books onto children from birth. WWE, the Pearson Foundation’s We Give Books and the American Library Association’s Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) partnered together to bring children together to read!

One of my most favorite programs ever, by far, is Be a STAR (Show Tolerance And Respect) which was founded by The Creative Coalition and WWE in April 2011.  The mission of Be a STAR is to ensure a positive and equitable social environment for everyone regardless of age, race, religion or sexual orientation through grassroots efforts beginning with education and awareness. Be a STAR promotes positive methods of social interaction and encourages people to treat others as equals and with respect because everyone is a star in their own right. There is so much bullying now days, that if we don’t take a stand, who will? Anti-bullying starts with you and me!

Just launched August 2014 – The Creative Coalition and WWE, co-founders of the Be a STAR (Show Tolerance And Respect) anti-bullying initiative, will announce the S.T.A.R. Alliance, a group of actors, musicians, comedians, athletes, television personalities and members of The Creative Coalition, who have joined together to help put an end to bullying during Summerslam. The Creative Coalition, members of the S.T.A.R. Alliance and WWE will use their reach of more than 400 million social media followers to spread the Be a STAR message of showing tolerance and respect to help combat bullying. S.T.A.R. Alliance members will also participate and share their stories at Be a STAR anti-bullying rallies across the U.S., including later this week in Los Angeles as part of WWE’s community outreach events during SummerSlam®Week.

I’m so happy to see so many people joining together to help spread the word against anti-bullying as it’s so important! Some of the wonderful members include Daughtry, Omar Epps, Flo Rida, Pete Wentz, Gerard Way, Tony Hawk, Sean Kingston, Alyssa Milano, Sharon Osbourne, Darius Rucker, Train, and many more! Social media is so powerful, and as a blogger, I know this. You can get a message out to many many people, and anti-bullying is a great message to get out there!

If you haven’t checked out the many many programs that the WWE participates in the community, you must do so! Remember to do your part and help out in your community, make a stand, and stand up for something you believe in!

  1. I definitely don’t volunteer enough. I always tell myself I will volunteer at a soup kitchen for Thanksgiving and I never do. It’s so easy to get caught up in your own life. I’m glad there are programs such as these to help people out!! Thanks!

  2. laurie damrose says:

I love that our favorite family show helps in the communities so much.

  3. this is an odd combo. but hey if thats what gets the word out good for the wwe

  4. Our family has watched the WWF – NOW – WWE for years! Going to their matches & their fan club sessions, etc. & never knew that they have the WrestleMania Reading Challenge. How cool is this – reading is so important!!! It is something we will do all of our life! Also WWE, are co-founders of the Be a STAR (Show Tolerance And Respect) anti-bullying initiative. WWE’s community outreach events are going on during SummerSlam Week. What great role models for our young generation! We ALL have to do our part to STOP THE HATE!!!

You can either microwave it or cook in a skillet for a crispier texture. I … [Read More...]

Being a mom and always being on the go is a rough and tiring job, by the time dinner comes around I know I'm already exhausted and wanting to head to bed...but you know, kids, they want dinner. Some of those nights I draw a blank on what we should have for dinner, or I just completely forgot to thaw something out. Just recently I ran into that … [Read More...]

I was separated and divorced last year while living in Georgia and I recently relocated to South Carolina for a fresh start with my kids. Along with that I knew I had to get a job. Which means … [Read More...]
