CaseApp iPad Mini Skin Review & $65 Gift Card Giveaway – ends 12/19

Everything Mommyhood received the product mentioned below in exchange for our honest opinion.

Last month we had the opportunity to design our very own skin for our iPad Mini as a part of Mom Powered Media and their Holiday Gift Guide through CaseApp! I had just received my iPad Mini, so I didn’t even have a case or anything for it yet, so I was happy to be able to review something new for my iPad Mini!(Check out the Holiday Gift Guide in the upper right corner of our blog!)

Now with CaseApp, not only can you create skins, but you can create cases too! They have options available for iPhones, iPads, Androids, and Laptops! I chose to create something different and go for a designing of a skin for my iPad Mini!

What is a skin?

  • Adhesive sticker
  • Protects against scratches
  • Personalize your device
  • Easy to change
  • Leaves no residue

Skins are printed on a thin, unique material and serves as a custom made, protective sticker. We use a four color printing process to ensure the highest quality print possible. Then we use a matte laminate that protects the skin from wear and tear for an extended time. A skin gives your device a personal and custom look while still protecting it from scratches. Application is easy, and forgiving if you do not get it right the first time. Removal is simple and leaves no residue on your device. The skins are prefect for adding a personal touch to your device, without the bulk of a case.

I thought it really easy to design my very own skin as well. What you see is actually what I made. CaseApp does have backgrounds you can choose from, but then you can add images, wording, etc. I picked one of their simple backgrounds, and then I designed my own image with wording to add onto the back. As a blogger I try to be my own person and work hard to achieve everything I can on my own without much help of others, so I really like the quote that I put on the back of my iPad Mini.

As you can see the skin comes on a mat type of material that you pull off and it’s actually very easy to place on your device. At first I even messed up a little, but it was really easy to peel back off and try again with no errors the second time. It’s not too thick of a material, but it’s thick enough to where it won’t actually rip or tear, which is what I was actually worried about.

As you can see it fits our iPad Mini completely perfect! There’s cut outs for every input on the device without any issues or overlapping. I actually had no complaints about the product until a couple days later, the front skin (as it’s two separate pieces) just wouldn’t stay on anymore, so I ended up taking it off completely, but left the back on. It’s been about a month and the back has stayed on completely with no issues at all.

If I could order again, I’d probably just order a case for the iPad Mini instead of a skin. Now for a laptop, I’d most definitely order a skin to put on! I do like the product though, I just had higher hopes for it. If the front would have stayed on completely, I would have most definitely really really recommended the product completely.
