10 Types of Parents Who Should Go To MommyCon

This is a guest post from Larisha at We’re Parents! Enjoy!
should I go to mommycon If you were like me two years ago, I was struggling with whether or not I should go to MommyCon. It was a new parenting convention, I was a new parent, and I wasn’t even sure if their views were my views. I decided to just go. After attending MommyCon Philly in 2013, I knew as soon as I left that I had to go back for MommyCon Philly 2014. Both experiences were completely different, but I’m forever in love with all that is MommyCon. However, we are asked time and time again from so many people if we think that MommyCon is right for them?

We’ve decided to put a list together for the types of parents that we think should go to MommyCon.

10. The Fun Parent

9. The Protective Parent

8. The Caring Parent

7. The Attentive Parent

6. The Well-Intentioned Parent

5. The Passionate Parent

4. The Loving Parent

3. The Supportive Parent

2. The Strong Parent

1. The YOU Parent

The point is that YES, you should go to MommyCon. Chances are that you consider yourself a member of every parenting category I’ve listed below which means that MommyCon is for YOU. Whether you are a full fledge crunchy, natural water birth rocking mama, a laid back mom who happens to bottle feed, the dad who thinks he works too many hours but his kids enjoy any amount of time with him, or even the well-intentioned grandparent…..JUST GO TO MOMMYCON.

I promise you that there is something for everyone there. Make it a “date” for you and your spouse, grab some girlfriends, or rock it solo with your squish like I usually do. It will be a day filled with laughter and even some tears probably, but it will be amazing!

And just in case for those of you who have never heard about MommyCon and are wondering what in the world I’m talking about– MommyCon is a convention all around the country open to all parents. While MommyCon does lean towards the natural side of parenting, everyone is encouraged to attend. There are workshops, seminars, giveaways, and more that explore breastfeeding, babywearing, birth, car seat safety, cloth diapering, baby gear, and more. You can see a full schedule for one of their events on their website at www.mommy-con.com.

  1. I’m well past that. Even if I weren’t, I don’t think it’s something I’d attend.

  2. laura rubenstein says:

I never knew they had anything like this. I would love to go 🙂

  3. Karen Jaras says:

I wish it was a little closer then I would send all 3 of my girls for a weekend away from the kids and a chance to recharge.

  4. This sounds like great fun and a great learning experience. Thank you for sharing

  5. Thanks for sharing 10 Types of Parents Who Should Go To MommyCon! It sure sounds different! I’m sort of way past the “mommy” of little babies thing. My 2 kids at home are both in school and my oldest daughter has 2 children of her own (My grand kids) which I don’t get to see as much as I would like to! They live on Fort Campbell, Ky and I’m in PA. This sounds like more for the first time mommy or for the mommy of small children! Thanks for sharing this with all of us! I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂

  6. You seem to have almost every type of parent covered…what about a 63 year old uncle who is helping to raise a 16 year old genius and has never raised a child before…oh yeah she is a girl!
