5 Activities To Do With Your Kids – Week Two

1. Make special snacks! Help them create fun shapes, faces, and creatures with their fruits and veggies!

2. Play hide and seek. My kids are insisting I include this, whether for indoor or outdoor play. They love hide and seek to the point that we have cleared out cabinets in our house just for hiding in! Go it old school, it’s still just as fun!

3. Board games!! My kids are still young so we play relatively easy games like Chutes and Ladders, or a very similar Frozen version called Surprise Slides. It’s the same concept where you go a certain number of spaces and either plummet several spaces back or jump ahead. Their grandparents also got this new game called Gobblet Gobblers which is a really fun twist on tic-tac-toe!

4. Exercise with the kids! I have been trying hard to exercise regularly and the kids always want to do it with me. You can do yoga or easy things that they can grasp, like sit-ups! It’s great to teach them about health and exercise, after all!

5. Paint still-life artwork. Put a bowl of fruit or a doll on a chair in the center of you and encourage the kids to paint what they see, while you do the same. It will be fun to see what each child comes up with! Display the artwork in your own art gallery in the hallway and show Daddy or Grandma the new exhibit.

  2. Thanks so much for the Terrific Review/Information on 5 Activities To Do With Your Kids – Week Two! These are really terrific activities to do with your children! Especially since it’s still so cold outside and there is still snow on the ground! I love the painting activity! It would be terrific to see what they paint! Board games are always a terrific go to as well! Kids love to keep active and they love it when a parent gets involved in an activity with them! Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us! I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂

  3. I love that you have cleared out cabinets in your house to use as hiding places. Your kids must have a great time playing Hide & Seek.

Oh I like the exercise with kids suggestion. I have a Yoga DVD just for teen girls and would love to play it at a slumber party for the girls.

  5. There are always people like you that can come up with anything for fun ! I so envy you, I really have to think about it. I’ll be checking back to see what I can do with the kids. Thank you !

  6. Such cute ideas. I like the idea of exercise. Having your kids start early, with a time devoted to exercise, can show them how important it is and develops good habits early. I love playing with the kids. We even make cleaning a fun activity, singing and dancing as we mop etc.

  7. These are all wonderful ideas! My kids and I love to play board games, but unfortunately it is usually a 2 time game because my youngest will grt his hands on the box and lose half the pieces. Little stinker. 🙂

  8. Some great ideas for winter vacation. We loved boards games in the winter months.

  9. Board games are good. With pre-school aged children, playing school is fun too. Get them used to flash cards, reading, writing. Basically just give them a head start.

  10. These are all great ideas for activities to do with children. My favorite is painting a still-life artwork, it would be very interesting to see what they come up with. Thank you for sharing this post.
