How the OurPact App Can Change Your Family Life & $50 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway – ends 3/31

This is a sponsored post & giveaway on behalf of Our Pact. All thoughts and opinions are those of our own and were not influenced in any way.

This past Christmas, my husband and I had the bright idea to buy both of our children an iPad Air. They are 3 and 6, and I wanted educational apps for them to do while I’m working since I work from home, and I can’t entertain them. As a parent, we find things to “babysit” while we are cooking, working, cleaning, etc…and I know I really need to limit the time my children spend on their Apple devices. Thankfully there’s a fabulous app to do just that, OurPact.

OurPact is an app for Apple devices such as the iPhone and iPad (as of right now, stay tuned for the Android version) that you can set parameters to control how much time your child is spending on their device(s). It’s so important to monitor your child’s time on their devices, and with OurPact you can block the Internet and other applications easily. You can manage your entire family’s device use under one platform.

With the OurPact App you can do all of the following:

-Block children’s Internet across all synced Apple devices
-Block children’s Apps across all synced Apple Devices
-Schedule Internet and App use according to your child’s daily routine
-Set a limit to the number of hours your children spend on the Internet and within Apps
-Block Internet and Apps at-a-touch
-Allow Website and App access, whenever you feel your child “needs more time”
-Block All Apps: Block Facebook, Block SnapChat, Block Instagram, Block Twitter, and more.

Now don’t get me wrong, not all of the apps children use on their device are bad. My children have learned so much from their educational apps, but of course not all their apps are educational. If they are really into playing one of their educational apps, I can give my child more time on their device.

Once you set parameters up for your children on their devices, if by chance they figure out how to disable them you will immediately be notified via an in-app notification or a push notification. At this time, you would need to discuss consequences of them removing the parameters.

What I like is the ability to set up schedules, you can input when you’re child is at school, piano lessons (or sports), dinner, homework, bathtime, bedtime, etc. The possibilities are endless. You can turn off their ability to use their device during these times.

We live in a wired world where children rely on their electronic device to be their main and only source of entertainment, by allowing them only a certain amount of time each day or every other day (you can choose which days), it will force them to find other means of entertainment. Have your children go outside to play, help make dinner, do a craft, clean their room, etc. With the OurPact app you and your children will find a good schedule together and will allow your family more time together instead of everyone’s face in their electronic device.

Download the app HERE.

  1. Janet W. says:

I would be interested in using this app because it’s a great way to set controls for my grandsons and making sure they aren’t doing inappropriate apps or websites on their phones.

  2. Deborah D says:

the app looks interesting. i can use it to make sure my nephews & nieces are viewing age appropriate websites.

  3. My daughter is 2 and my husband and I talk about this all the time. We both agree that when she is older and we allow her to use an iPad or equivalent we need to keep her usage to a minimum. I definitely think an app like this would be extremely useful.

  4. steve weber says:

This app would come in very helpful. I can filter what my niece and nephew watch by using this app.

  5. It’s good for people that have children, or a care giver. Luckily, I’m not in either group. I only say luckily because the world is a lot more frightening now for parents because of the technology available to the children.

  6. Seriously going to show this app to my husband. We know our teenager can hid what he is doing on his tablet. Can’t wait for them to come out with an android app.

  7. Cheryl Fulton says:

I think this is a wonderful app. This helps in setting boundaries for our children even on their phones/ipads:)

  8. I would find this app useful because I want my son to not be on gadgets all day long. I like the parental control feature.

  9. I would be interested in this app because it would keep all the daily activities and appointments in one place. I also like that it is easy to read for both kids and adults 🙂

  10. Cynthia C says:

I think it would help to monitor what kids are doing online. I like that you can limit the time they spend.

  11. I think this app would be very helpful since it would help me organize my daughter’s use of tablets/phones. I like that it doesn’t seem too controlling on her end but would allow me to monitor and limit spending for accounts where my credit card information is already stored.

  12. Wbe my kids don’t have an IPad,it is certainly on the list of birthday wishes.I would definitely want to give this app a try.

  13. I think this app is great! I not only think it’s great to be able to limit the time the children spend on their devices, but the family as a whole! Once time is up, then it’s quality family time!

  14. sarah bowe says:

I would love this app! My son thinks he can play on his dad’s tablet until the battery runs out. It would be so great to control the time that he can actually use it. I’m glad you can set your own boundaries for your own kids at their specific age.

  15. I would be so grateful if it could help me limit my children’s screen time. we are also having trouble knowing what sites to block so it may be helpful there too.

  16. This App will help me to limit my grandkids time on the ipad

  17. Thanks so very much for the Fantastic Review on How the OurPact App Can Change Your Family Life! I think this is a very clever App where you can set the amount of time your child can use their iPad, etc. I also love the fact that if the kids figure out how to “unblock” the internet or what have you, you get a notice that they have done so! This is a really nice app for a mother to have for their children! Especially for the mom’s who have kids playing on their iPads all the time! Thanks so much for sharing your fantastic review and all the information on OurPact App with all of us! I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again! Michele 🙂

  18. I think it’s a very nice App. You can make sure your child is safe by monitoring their Internet use and making sure they’re not visiting areas on the web that could put them in danger (such as chat rooms where predators might target kids). It’s also helpful to have daily limits on your child’s Internet use so they’re involved in real-life activities and interacting with others in real life, not just over the Internet.

  19. This would be very helpful for parents who have kids and smartphones. I don’t have either.
    Thanks for the contest.

  22. Nicole Carter (Weasley) says:

I like the schedule features. It’s so easy for kids to forget what’s going on! It’s a great reminder and have them stay on track.

  23. This app would have been very helpful when my son was in school. I used to keep lists for our schedules, of course, back then, smartphones were not available. Technology today is saving me lots of paper! 🙂

  24. Rebecca Wood says:

This will be very helpful when I have children of my own. For now, I can recommend it to parents when I watch their children. I know many who would be happy to learn of an app like this!

  25. I love that I can use the Our Pact app to set a limit to how much time my kids can spend online and/or using apps and games.
