Half a billion kids around the world have benefited from the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® oral health education program. Now, it’s offering a free, educational app: “My Bright Smile.” Included are five games, including “Visit the Dentist,” “Swipe the Sweets” and “Brush the Teeth.” There’s even a two-minute song that will help keep your kids brushing until every tooth is clean.

As a mom to two girls who are 3 and 6, I feel like I’m constantly talking about good habits of brushing and flossing with them. I didn’t grow up with parents who pushed dental hygiene and I didn’t visit the dentist regularly, but as an adult now, I know the importance of good dental care.  Unfortunately, it’s like pulling teeth (see what I did there) trying to get my kids to brush and floss morning and night. Then when I get them to, getting them to brush for a full two minutes proves to be difficult as well. Not any longer though, as we now have the FREE My Bright Smile App from Colgate that counts down two minutes with a fun song!

My kids play a lot of educational games on their iPad and we have added another great app for them to use as well, My Bright Smile, by Colgate. Not only is it good for counting down the time they should be brushing, but it includes fun games as well that promotes good dental hygiene! That’s a HUGE plus in my book! The My Bright Smile app is recommended for children age 4 to 6, so it’s just perfect for my kiddos!

Some of the most important things to remember about healthy habits and your teeth:
• Brush with fluoride toothpaste after breakfast and before bedtime
• Floss every day
• Visit your dentist regularly
• Limit the number of times you eat sweet and sticky snacks

In the Colgate, My Bright Smile app, your child can Visit the Dentist, Brush their Teeth, Fun with Floss, Swipe the Sweets, and Picture this in addition to the Brushing Song. There’s even a parent screen!

Download Colgate, “My Bright Smile” for FREE:

NOTE: The “My Bright Smile” app does not store any personal information, and no data about its use is sent back to Colgate.

Do you think your children will enjoy this app? Do you have any advice on good dental hygiene for kids?

  1. It is important to take care of your teeth from a young age. I know you’re supposed to brush for 2 minutes. Even now, I find that hard to do.

  2. M.Clark says:

I think all children will enjoy this app. I suggest brushing your teeth while your children are brushing their teeth. If they see you doing it, they will want to do it as well.

  3. Dental health is so important. Starting at an early age teaching kids to brush, floss and rinse makes a big difference later on as they age.
