Leaky Bladder? It’s More Common Than You Think!

This post brought to you by Poise. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Everything Mommyhood.

Ahhhh a taboo topic! This is something most women don’t talk about or even admit to even though SO many women experience it. You know those little leaks where you pee just a bit if you cough, sneeze, laugh, exercise, etc? Yep, that’s what we’re talking about, Stress Urinary Continence, also known as SUI.

My mom and I were actually just talking about this a few weeks ago because she had actually brought it up to her doctor the week before. He had put her on some sort of medication, but then I heard about this product and actually received it in the mail to try out, so I told her about it just so she could use it instead of the medication.

It just so happened that I was going to visit her last week for vacation, and I brought the Poise Impressa Bladder Supports with me. We both were super intrigued with this new over-the-counter product and interested in learning about it. They are the first over-the-counter internal product designed to help stop leaks before they happen.

So what exactly are these bladder supports?

They are safe, comfortable and effective, Poise Impressa Bladder Supports are inserted like a tampon. Although it does not absorb leaks like a tampon; rather it gently lifts (or supports) the urethra to help stop leaks before they happen. What a great idea right?

My mom had a terrific experience with the product. She said it was very easy to use and she had no leaks while using Poise Impressa Bladder Supports! Poise Impressa Bladder Supports are available in three sizes that adapt to the unique internal shape of each woman’s body. Women should start with the Poise Impressa Sizing Kit to find the size that helps effectively stop their leaks and fits most comfortably. After my mom found the right size for her, she immediately went to the store and bought a package of the size for her…and best of all, no more medication for her! She loves Poise Impressa Bladder Supports.

  1. I’m so glad there has been so much out there about these! This is definitely a topic most women don’t like to talk about, so I’m glad so many are posting and making everyone not feel so uncomfortable about it.

  2. Amber Ludwig says:

Thankfully I haven’t had to go through this yet… but Im assuming with a few more kids it’ll be unavoidable!! Im glad to know there’s a company that supports it!!

  3. Linda Manns Linneman says:

This is an interesting concept for women. So many of us get bladder leakage as we age. Especially women that have had children. Thank you so much for sharing

  4. I’m not looking forward to this part of the mommhyhood, lol. At least there are some options now!

  5. I can’t imagine how they work, but if it works, I’m in. Thanks for sharing!

  6. I think that happens to everybody at some point. I would use a panty liner instead. I don’t really understand how this works.

  7. The Poise Impressa Bladder Supports do sound interesting. I do not suffer from LBL so for now I will stick with Kegels and hope I never have to use the Poise Impressa Bladder Supports.

  8. I pray that I never have a leaky bladder. Very interesting information.

  9. molli vandehey says:

im so glad to know its not jsut me. so embarassing

  10. Dorothy Boucher says:

I was able to try these products out and love what they do for women , since I had surgery my bladder has not been the same, so I really appreciate what this company does for us who need this..

  11. I have to try this out. I’m so glad that this issue has come “out of the closet” and into the open where it belongs. So many of us find ourselves needlessly embarassed. We shouldn’t – it’s just a minor medical problem, and shouldn’t be any more embarassing than wearing glasses.

  12. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in this!! Since having my daughter I notice if I cough hard or sneeze and my bladder is not totally empty, I do a lil dribble now and then. I have been trying to keep up on my legal exercises, but those are definitely not a solution. Thankfully companies like this one have products to help and make us feel less embarrassed to discuss the topic !!

I’m assuming this happens to so many. Nice to know I am not alone! Thanks for the post!
