Total Body Care for Us Moms is So Important for our Well Being #BecauseMoment

This post was sponsored by Massage Envy as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.

Being a mom is one of the best things I’ve ever experienced of my life, it’s so joyful, adventurous, full of love, but at the same time it’s 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year, it’s exhausting and it takes a toll on us. It’s so very important for us to stop and take care of ourselves too, and I know many of us don’t. I know I don’t myself. I’m not talking about just treating yourself either, I’m talking about actually taking care of YOU! We always tend to put our kids, family, and even our friends above us and take care of them and what they need or want.

I know I’m always running my kids to and from school, grocery shopping, cooking 3 meals a day, making snacks, cleaning the house from top to bottom, listening to a dear friend on the phone who is going through a hard time, supporting my husband when he’s had a hard stressful day at work, helping out a neighbor because they’re in a bind, babysitting a friend’s child because theirs cancelled, cooking a meal for someone close who just had a baby or who may be sick, it just seems like there is always so much going on, but I’m always doing for someone else. What about me? Life can be tough, life can be rough, and being a mom is hard work and hard on our body.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my girls and my husband to death. I love my friends and my neighbors too.

Massage Envy is a great place to cater to you and your well being. They understand the need to unwind and refresh. Massage Envy believes that total body care is a very important part of wellness.

What is Total Body Care?
Total Body Care is where we pause during the daily grind to check-in and tune up.

Massage Envy’s newest campaign, ‘Because,’ elevates massage from a luxury to a routine solution. While a massage may be relaxing or any other services that Massage Envy provides, it’s a part of body maintenance. It’s more than treating yourself, it’s something that should be a part of your routine for your well being. Give yourself that visit to Massage Envy that can make your entire day feel just a little more livable.

There’s a Massage Envy less than 7 miles from my house and I’m going to make an appointment soon as I really need to make this a routine solution to my life. I need to pause from my daily grind, and I need to check-in and tune up. If mommy isn’t taken care of, then no one else can be right? I need this routine in my life, and I need it without feeling guilty. I need this for me, to take care of my body. Don’t you???

  1. Amber Ludwig says:

Yes!! I find myself really desperate for some mommy time!! I think people forget just how much we give as mothers!! A massage sounds like an amazing retreat!!

  2. I think as women, it is easy to worry about everything and everybody else more than we do ourselves. It’s easy to get run down and frazzled. A message sounds wonderful! It really does ease stress and , for me at least, will lift my mood for hours.

  3. Sandy Cain says:

As nurturers, we often forget that WE need to be nurtured. Family, jobs, obligations and responsibilities usually leave little (or NO) time for “me time”. It’s like what the flight attendants tell you before take-off: If the oxygen masks drop down for an emergency, put YOUR’S on first, before you help others. I’d be little use to my family if I’m totally wiped out. Thanks to you, and to Massage Envy, for reminding us that we need to care for ourselves routinely, before we care for others.

  4. Total body care is very important for everyone. We all need to take a few moments out from each day to just relax and do something for ourselves. Thank you for sharing this post.

  5. I like to get pedicures when I can. But I don’t usually do much, even though I know I should, I have 3 small cool and usually put them first.

  6. I definitely need to start this. I don’t work so one would think I’d have a little time now and then for myself but taking are of a toddler and maintaining a household take waaaay more time than one could imagine. I agree that everyone needs a little me time, keeps us in a better mood and happy mommy means happy household, lol.

  7. Linda Manns Linneman says:

I am going to get a gift card from Massage Envy for a friend that has everything. I think this is something she will really enjoy. Thank you so much for sharing

  8. I also love being able to take a bubble bath with a good book when I can! 🙂

  9. Edna Williams says:

I often have to have a bubble bath to unwind!

  10. I am doing the same thing but being a grandma. I am helping my son raise my two grandchildren and there is usually not any me time or no money for me time. I will check out massage envy. I know we have one close by. I would love a massage. Thank you for sharing

Being a mom and always being on the go is a rough and tiring job, by the time dinner comes around I know I'm already exhausted and wanting to head to bed...but you know, kids, they want dinner. Some of those nights I draw a blank on what we should have for dinner, or I just completely forgot to thaw something out. Just recently I ran into that … [Read More...]
