Holiday Gift Guide: Flash and Thunder Interactive Game by Invicta #UltGiftGuide2015

This is a sponsored post on behalf of our 2015 Holiday Gift Guide.

Don’t miss this action-packed game for kids age 8 -14! Flash & Thunder tells the true story of a Native American paratrooper on D-Day. Kids challenge themselves by playing the role of Turner Turnbull, a young lieutenant in the 82nd Airborne. They make the decisions he faced—and determine history!

Flash & Thunder includes an operations packet, 2 detailed maps, 108-page graphic novel and collectible paratrooper figure, which tie to a free-to-play mobile game.

Action-packed, highly visual and historically accurate, Flash & Thunder gets kids reading and learning about history and leadership. As seen on TV’s Fox & Friends!

To play Flash & Thunder:

Kids first examine their Operations Packet and maps. Using that information, they then complete the graphic novel Mission, in which they make decisions determining mission failure or success. Next, kids can download the free mobile strategy game. If they’ve read their Operations Packet, maps, and Mission, winning the video game is a snap!

Recommended Ages: Age 8 – 14 years old

  1. That sounds like a good game for kids. Especially for little boys. They love this stuff.

  2. It sounds like a very unique and interesting game! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  3. I love this! I love that your little one can learn, play, and practice decision making all at the same time and all under the guise of “playing.” Graphic novels are huge in this age group and I know a couple of little guys that are into the Army and would be pleased as punch to find this under the tree. Awesome!

OH WOW! What little boy at that age doesn’t want to be a paratrooper how cool is that. Wanting to be an “armyman” starts pretty early in boys and to have maps and missions always make it so much more fun! I am glad that they get to be the “GOOD” guys! Thanks for the review.

  5. I have two brothers who would still love to get this for Christmas!

  6. Ooh, that looks awesome!! Hubby actually has another game by them that he loves!! I’m clueless on games so this REALLY helps me for a gift for my difficult-to-buy-for husband!!

  7. My son would love this game! What a great gift idea!

  8. I love it when a game incorporates learning into the fun. This is right up my nephews alley, he wants to be a pilot when he grows up. Thanks for the info!

  9. I need a gift idea for my 10 year old nephew who is into history – I think he’ll love this!

  10. My son and husband would love this!

  11. Now this is a toy I wouldn’t mind having around. I really like that it’s historically accurate!

  12. Having some Native American roots, I think my son would appreciate learning about Turner Turnbull. Plus, he is really into playing with military figurines. He’s 6 1/2, but pretty mature for his age and I think he’d probably love to play with this toy.

  13. I think this would be a great gift for my 8 year old. We have been trying to think of one more gift for him.

  14. My son would probably love this! He has loved this type of stuff since he was 3! I had not heard of it before now. Thanks for sharing!

  15. Being a Veteran of the U.S. Army, this looks awesome. I will definitely have to check out maybe getting this, and seeing if I could get others to play. Thanks for the awesome suggestion, it will fill the niche of many that are looking for gifts! ~Tom

  16. My son would love this and it’s great that it reaches kids about maps.

  17. I have a nephew who would absolutely love this! I have been trying to figure out what to give him. This will be great.

  18. Edna Williams says:

That sounds cool! I need a gift idea for my husband! Thanks for sharing!

  19. Linda Manns Linneman says:

This sounds like a great thinking game for kids. I have never heard of this before today. I think it sounds great. Thank you for sharing

  20. This looks highly interesting. I’m a reserves soldier and I have a degree in strategy, and it sounds to me like this kind of game can be an effective way not just in teaching strategy, but also to pinpoint those who have a natural ability with that way of thinking. It’s a very valuable thought process and can help in career building in the future. Wish things like this were available when I was younger!
