Best App for Moms: Merck Manual Consumer App #MerckManualApp

This is sponsored post on behalf of Merck. All thoughts and opinions are those of our own.

Most of my readers are moms (or dads) and as you all know I’m a mom to two girls. Sometimes my kids have weird symptoms (I mean really, what kid doesn’t?) and half the time I’m stumped on what’s going on with them. I tend to turn to Google, even for myself when I have issues, and really, we all know that isn’t that great of an idea because it seems like everything just points to the worst outcome of all. That’s why I’m so excited to tell you about this app I discovered, Merck Manual Consumer App.

Your kid spikes a fever of 102, and tired. A few days later, she develops a rash all over her trunk that spreads. I’m sure you’re freaking out (especially as a first time mom) and wondering what you should do. Should you bring her to the doctor or is that going to be a wasted co-pay visit? That’s where the Merck Consumer App comes into play. Of course, don’t let it be your doctor per say, use your best judgement, after all it’s there to help you. Pull out your phone and open the app (it’s free by the way, I’ll link below where to get it) and search. When you search, you will find out it’s probably just a virus and more than likely roseola. It will go away on it’s own, so no worries!

With the Merck app, your Apple or Android device will contain not only every one of the thousands of topics posted on The Manual’s website but all of their 800+ photos and illustrations. It also contains almost 200 animations and videos that you can choose to download if you’d like. In addition, when an internet connection is available, the new app provides online-only access to the other great features of our award-winning website, such as

Interactive health quizzes

Drug and medicine information guide, including drug interactions and a pill identifier

Medical news and TV covering important health topics

Editorials written by The Manual’s editorial board and expert authors

All of these are amazing within this app and I encourage you to download this app, as it’s FREE, and use it! As a mom I think it’s a must have, but even if you’re not a mom, it’s a must have!

It’s super easy to download the app. For Apple devices, get the app in the iTunes app store. For Android devices, go to Google Play.

It’s really nice to have this wonderful tool in the palm of your hands just to give you a peace of mind.
Download it and tell me what you think! I’d love to hear about it.

  1. I dont have a smartphone, but I can see how apps would help those that do. I do wish companies would also make these available either in store a different way.
