Save Money on your Prescriptions by using SearchRx

Everything Mommyhood was compensated for this posting. All thoughts are those of our own.

This year I got divorced. My marriage of 9 years ended and with that my health insurance ended. Unfortunately for me, I am on a few different medications, so I was scared about what I was going to do. I needed to figure out a way to afford my medications while getting on my feet financially and learning how to support my daughters and myself.

This is how I came to discover SearchRx. I’m sure you’re asking what is it? Is it a prescription plan? Let me tell you exactly what it is and how to use it!

SearchRx is a free service that allows anyone to save up to 75% on their medications at most major pharmacies. Not to mention, it’s an app too so you can use it directly from your mobile device. Awesome right?

All you do is go to and you’ll get a search bar where you’ll enter your medication name. For example, I will show you what I did on mine for my birth control, which is called Sprintec 28.

After typing in your prescription name, it will populate a list of pharmacies near you and SearchRx prices for that particular medication. This is so helpful, as you can find out if you’re overpaying at one pharmacy and should switch to another.  As you can see there is a “Get Free Coupon” box that I can click on, which I did and it said I could get an email or text message to save on my prescription to be able to purchase it for that price shown. How great is that?!?

SearchRX is a brand dedicated to delivering real prescription discounts to the Americans who need them the most. SearchRx’s 100% free coupons can help you get major discounts on all FDA approved medication nationwide. It’s as easy as searching for your prescription, finding the location nearest you with the best price, and going to pick up your prescription!

This is a website I can get behind and I think it’s so beneficial to so many of us, so I thought it was so important to spread the word to all of my readers. Check out your prescriptions and see if you can save! If you can, use SearchRx, have them text or email you your coupon and then head to your pharmacy with the information and you can get your prescription at a better price than you’re currently paying!

Have you used SearchRx? If you do, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

  1. yikes, I’m lucky that not only do I have coverage at work (costs $3 per prescript) but now hubbys has kicked in as well so we pay $0

  2. Cool website to use

  3. I am always amazed that meds can vary so much. We use a med subscription service that does 3 months at a time but now and again a script is done for one time- like for antibiotics etc. I use a local pharmacy, and this is where this service would be handy. Thanks for the info, and I am glad it isnt an app but a site- I dont have a cellphone so the site is much better.

Prescriptions can be so expensive. And the cost can vary so much from one pharmacy to another. Anything that helps with those costs is great.

  5. sheila ressel says:

I have used this and it really helps save money. We saved $45 on one of my mom’s prescriptions! Love it!

  6. I have saved money using this before. There are several ways like this one to save on meds, just takes a little research. thanks for sharing.

  7. My family is very lucky we have a great prescription plan. However, we have a dog that requires medication occasionally. As continuing medication after a hospital stay, we were once charged $8 a pill for what turned out to be over the counter Pepcid. WHAT???? They used the generic name so I didn’t recognize it. Knowing about for actual prescriptions for her will really help!

  8. denise low says:

Thank you for sharing. I need to try this out. I could always use saving money.

  9. I found out about SearchRX about a year ago from a magazine article. It is really good!

  10. Amber Ludwig says:

  11. I did not know until now that this tool was available, this is great. Will definitely check this out as my prescriptions can get expensive. Thank you for sharing this great tool.
