Florida is Great For Winter Produce! #FreshFromFlorida

This post was sponsored by Fresh From Florida as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central, however all opinions expressed are my own.

Some of you that have followed my blog for a long time probably know that I’m a Florida native. I know I have a lot of friends and family that follow from Florida, so of course you all know the information that I’m about to share. Did you know that Florida has SO much more to offer than beaches? No, I’m not talking about theme parks and all of those touristy things, although, those are great too. I’m talking about all of the amazing Florida Grown Agriculture, produce, is hands down, the best from Florida. Just think of the temperatures, precipitation, and much more, it’s the perfect environment for it. Florida farmers make it easy for everyone to enjoy fresh food, produce, and seafood year round!

What types of produce do you think of when you think of Florida? I’m sure most of you would probably say oranges. While oranges are so yummy and in my opinion Florida has the best around, my favorite is strawberries from Florida. Growing up we always attended the Plant City Strawberry Festival, seriously everything strawberry, every where. If you ever get the chance, make sure you go. It’s in March every year. Anyway, now that I got off topic…and let you all know of a touristy thing mentioned above, let me continue.

Now I know you all are thinking it’s still winter, it’s cold, and you’re probably not thinking about fresh food, produce, or seafood yet, but really you should be. Florida has strawberries, oranges, blueberries, watermelon, peppers, sweet corn, mushrooms, and just so many more things to offer.

I found this great chart on the Fresh from Florida website that tells you what months Florida has produce available, so definitely check it out.

Next time you’re in the grocery store, check around and see if you see any of these great products from Florida available in your stores now!

As you can probably guess, strawberries are my favorite. I’ve been around them for years growing up in Florida, and as you read above I have great memories involving them, like the Plant City Strawberry Festival. I introduced strawberries to my kids at a young age and they have a love for them too, believe me, my wallet knows. They will demolish a pint of strawberries as soon as we get them home from the grocery store, straight from the package.

In a few weeks, I’ll be creating a yummy recipe involving one of the great products Fresh From Florida has to offer and I know that y’all will just love and I can’t wait to share it with you. Make sure you keep an eye out. In the mean time, check out an old recipe on our site Chocolate Covered Strawberries.

I also have a great recipe involving yummy sweet corn, Farm Fresh Corn Salsa!

One last fabulous recipe, is our Blueberry Cream Cheese Pound Cake!

Fresh from Florida has some awesome recipes right on their website too, so make sure you check them out and see what you can create with Winter produce from your store from Florida!
