Baby Genius – Book, DVD, & CD Review

Did you know that music has been linked to enhanced brain development? That’s why Baby Genius provides your child with music-based products that are not only educational but entertaining for both babies and young children.

Saying that my children love music would be a true understatement. All my children love singing, whether it’s in the car, at school, or in church. You’ll constantly see Amaya and Olive dancing along to music as well. I love how Baby Genius incorporates music with their products. There are so many positives that come from children that are introduced to music such as improving motor skills and building vocabulary. Plus it even helps encourage creativity and curiosity.

We love listening to Baby Genius’ Favorite Children’s Songs CD. There are two CD’s with over 29 songs filled with award-winning music. On the first disc you’ll find music to sing, dance, and play to. On disc two, you’ll find children’s songs.

Amaya has learned how to sing so many new songs thanks to Baby Genius. I love catching her in my rear view mirror singing along. She even asks to listen to certain songs that are her favorite, such as Row, Row, Row Your Boat. Since there are so many songs on the radio that I don’t want little ears to hear, it’s reassuring to know that we can pop in this CD and all enjoy listening and singing along!

Amaya loves reading and the Baby Genius book, The Wheels on the Bus, is a great board book that is easy for her to page through. Olive can even turn the pages to the board book too. I love that the book is so easy to follow and sing along with.

It’s nice that the book has little prompts to show the children what kind of movements go with the song. It is a great way to get them moving and keep them engaged. Plus the pictures are fun, colorful, and has all the characters that Amaya has come to know and recognize from the Baby Genius DVD.

I wish I would have had my iPod ready when Amaya began singing along so beautifully to the Baby Genius Favorite Nursery Rhymes DVD. She loves the song Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and she has memorized it perfectly now. She is such a performer so anything that allows her to sing and dance is a winner in her book (and mine too!). Olive really loves all the fun characters too. This DVD even had my 10 year old watching! I like the continuous play option so I can allow it to play a few times without the kids ever getting bored. It also allows mom a much needed break to get a few things done around the house!

I’m not a huge fan of letting Olive or Amaya watch a lot of TV but when there is something educational and engaging, such as what Baby Genius offers, I don’t mind one bit! Olive is so entertained and loves clapping and dancing. It’s so cute to watch her sway back and forth and smile and giggle. The educational aspect is great. Both of my little girls are learning classic nursery rhymes, ABC’s, and some other fun original songs composed by Baby Genius.
