My fiance and I have been together for three years, and this summer we decided since we are always doing things for our girls, that we would finally take a vacation for ourselves. I know not many parents take time for themselves, but we felt that it was imperative for our sanity, relationship, and we just deserved it.
We took two weeks out of our busy lives of work and parenting, and we went on an amazing vacation. I grew up in Florida, and he had only ever been to Disney, so I wanted to take him to Florida and show him where I grew up. We headed to Tampa for a couple days and visited Tarpon Springs, Clearwater Beach, and then headed to the Port of Tampa to go on the Carnival Miracle for a week long trip to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize, and Mahogany Bay Honduras. After we got back from that trip, we headed to Lake Buena Vista, Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort (HELLO DISNEY!!!).
We were hosted at the most beautiful resort I have ever been to, Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort. I seriously can’t wait to go back. We had such a relaxing time, with everything we needed right on the property. Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort is conveniently adjacent to the Walt Disney World ® Resort. Families of all ages can take advantage of shuttle service to all the action-packed Disney theme parks including Epcot ®, Magic Kingdom ® Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios ® and Disney’s Animal Kingdom ® Park. Not only that, it’s almost directly across the street from Disney Springs, which is a great shopping location filled with lots of restaurants, bars, and stores.
Bonnet Creek Resort has several different buildings with condo-style accommodations with one, two, three, and four-bedroom resort suites. The rooms can sleep four to twelve people. Each building also has it’s own themed water park area. There are water slides, splash zones, lazy rivers, inner tubes, private cabanas, hot tubs and poolside bars. Additional resort activities include miniature golf, organized resort activities, barbecue areas, indoor game rooms, playgrounds and picnic areas. There’s just SO much to do!
Our one-bedroom suite was HUGE, at 902 sq ft. All of the rooms include private balconies, individual bedrooms, separate living areas and kitchens fully equipped with utensils, cookware and numerous appliances: dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, washer and dryer. Even though we left to visit Universal City Walk, Disney Springs, and Disney’s Magic Kingdom, we really had no reason to leave as we had everything we needed right on the property to keep us busy!
I can’t wait to head back next summer and bring all of our girls with us. I just know they will have SO much fun. We had a blast visiting all the pools and relaxing, and our girls love to swim just as much as we do. The proximity to all of the theme parks in the area was also a huge plus.
I’m sure you’re asking how to book your vacation here. You can be a time share owner, or you can also book as a non-owner! I’m so glad they have both options, check out our links below.
