I started using cloth pads in the spring of 2011. I know this because it was shortly after I had given birth to my daughter. Because I had a c-section with my first born, I had no idea that post-partum bleeding was so different after a vaginal delivery.
I bled for weeks on end it seemed and with each passing day, the thought of using a disposable pad was grueling. I tried brand after brand of pad, trying to find some sort of comfort, but I really think at that point I become so sensitive to them.
At the time, I had seen some of my blogger friends talking about the brand Pink Lemonade Shop and since I had been researching cloth diapers, I thought well this makes perfect sense – why not use cloth pads! Not only are they cost effective, they are better for the environment and are non-toxic.
I think we all know how our monthly aunt flo can be, but honestly wearing a Pink Lemonade cloth menstrual pad brings a little comfort and joy to that dreadful week of each month. Since 2011, I have been wearing Pink Lemonade pads exclusively. Besides being so darn comfortable, I love picking out new fabrics! I have cotton pads for the summer months, minky and fleece for the winter, and fun prints like holiday prints, tie-dye, fun animals like llamas, owls, and so much more.

And the best part? You will think I am crazy when I say this: I bleed lighter when I use a Pink Lemonade cloth pad. Pink Lemonade recommends for the week of your period 20-25 pads should be enough. I have currently have about 10 pads and every now and then I get behind on laundry and have to use a disposable pad. During the times I wear the disposable pads, my period is so heavy!
Don’t let cleaning them scare you away either. I purchased a wet bag from Pink Lemonade or you can get one on amazon or at a local store. When I am out, I fold the pad up and snap it together and put it in the wet bag. At home, I put the dirty pads in the wash until it is time to wash.

I use cloth pads but have not tried Pink Lemonade. If I win then I would let my daughter pick out something for her to use
