About a month ago I received the brand new Dyson DC59 Animal Bagless and Cordless Stick Vacuum to review. I’m a member of Best Buy’s bloggers and was ecstatic to have the chance to review this fabulous new product. Now I’ll be completely honest. I have been wanting a Dyson for as long as I can remember, but I really couldn’t justify spending so much more for just a vacuum, but after using the DC59 for a few weeks, I know why they are more expensive. You get what you pay for. This vacuum has been AMAZING. Upon receiving the Dyson DC59 Animal, I vacuumed with my other vacuum first. I wanted to see if the Dyson picked up more that my other vacuum couldn’t get. Let me tell you, I was almost DISGUSTED by the amount of dirt and dust this little Dyson picked up. It may be small, but it is VERY powerful.
Here are some great points that I personally love about the Dyson DC59 Animal:
The Dyson DC59 has 3 times the suction of any other cordless vacuum. I know for a fact it works way better than my old vacuum which went straight to the curb after using this fabulous vacuum. 26 minutes of cleaning time means I have time to do all the floors in my room, or even a quick clean up in just a room or two, without worrying about the battery running out. The all new V6 motor = 50% more power than V2; performs like an upright vacuum, which is great for such a slim and lightweight vacuum. Do not underestimate the power of this beast! The 2 Tier Radial Cyclone technology brought to cordless for the first time along with the re-engineered brush bar for hard floor and carpet cleaning. Which means I can go from our carpeted bedroom to our hardwood flooring in our living room, to our area rugs with ease. Did I mention that it only weighs 4.65 lbs.
One of the best features I love about the Dyson DC59 Animal is how easy it is to empty the cup where all the dust and dirt collects. It is just a simple push of a button, which is great! You just place the vacuum over your trashcan and press the button down and everything simply falls right into the trash. There are no bags to replace, which is great. I have a 1500 sq ft house with a combination of carpet, hardwood, and tile. I can vacuum my entire house before the vacuum needs recharged. By the time I’m ready to vacuum the next day, it’s all charged again and ready to go! It only takes 3.5 hours to recharge. It’s super easy to carry and push with it’s light weight of less than 5lbs! The other feature I love best is that not only is it a vacuum to push around your house, but you can remove the long pole to make the vacuum a shorter handheld, which is PERFECT for cleaning out my SUV. It’s super light weight, easy to take outside, and quick to do it’s job.
Other great specifications about the DC59:
- 15 cyclones, arranged across 2 tiers
- Cyclones work in parallel to increase airflow and capture fine dust
- Improved maneuverability due to smaller ball at the back
- Self-tightening mechanism keeps the brush bar stable
- New configuration of carbon fiber filaments and nylon bristle tips to remove fine dust and dirt across all floor types
- Extended neck for greater ease of use
- Soft-touch trigger is easier to hold (makes for longer clean time – people don’t need to keep it on when moving furniture, etc. equals less wasted energy)
- Handle is now more comfortable to hold
- Hygienic one-touch bin emptying, now on both sides (for left or right handed folks). One push empties bin, second push detaches bin completely for washing, etc.
- Pre-motor filter located at the top; which is now much easier to take out for washing
Buy it: Available for purchase at Best Buy for $499.99.

I would like to try a Dyson too, but at that price it's out of my budget for the time being. This one sounds better than the small plug-in one I use daily.

I've always admired the way some Dyson's can vacuum under furniture. I also like what you said in your review that they are bagless and easy to empty. So much better than having to change bags.

$500 Dollars! That is too expensive for most people. I know that I can not afford this. But I know that this vacuum is a very good one, and if I could afford it, I would get this Dyson. It has such powerful cleaning ability!

For so long I've wanted a Dyson - we have a very shed-y cat and lots of dust for some reason. I know this is a bit price-y, but for something you use practically every day, it must be worth it.
