If you haven’t heard of Softcard™, a free app for your phone, then you must download it and start using it today. I’ve actually been using it for a few months and I have to tell you it’s been one heck of a lifesaver for me as a mom on the go. My husband was with me the other day when I used it and he was amazed. He’s very tech savvy and he had no idea you could pay with your phone! During the holidays it’s great too as you don’t have to dig around in your purse for your card or your store loyalty card while you’re in a rush, they’re all in one place ready to go in the Softcard™ App.
When my hubby was with me, we actually used it at our local outlet mall vending machine. Our vending machines at the mall take debit/credit cards as well as the Softcard™ app because it has the contact-less symbol that you can see below on Tappy, the mascot. We wanted a drink, so I showed him how to do it on my phone. I just opened the app, typed in my pin, scrolled to the card I wanted to use, made my drink selection and placed my phone up to the contact-less point on the machine, and it automatically deducted the $1.50 off for our drink, and it dispensed it below. There were no extra fees, no getting your card out and swiping it, nothing. It really is that easy.
Softcard™ is a free app that lets you pay using your phone, save with special offers, and store all of your store loyalty, membership, and rewards cards. I have added in my gift cards, my bank debit card, as well as all of my store loyalty cards. I have my Kroger card, CVS card, RiteAid, Gymboree Rewards, and Toys R Us loyalty cards added in within the Softcard™ app on my phone, so they’re all in one place. I have more as well, but those are to just name a few! It’s so simple just to choose your loyalty card for the store you’re at for them to scan, as well as pull your phone up to the correct card you want to pay with. Once you have your phone pulled up to the card you want to pay with you place it up to the same place you’d normally swipe your card and follow the directions on your Softcard™ App on your phone.
Isn’t Tappy, the mascot for Softcard™, just adorable!
Now you can’t use the Softcard™ App every where, but there’s over 275,000 locations nationwide that accept it. All you have to do is look for the symbol shown above on Tappy (the contact-less symbol), on the machine where you normally swipe your card. If you see that symbol, you can use your phone to pay!
All you do is enter your pin and it will pull up your information. Now everything is locked up safe on your phone behind your pin number, so no one can do anything without the pin number. The Softcard™ app is free and available for use with many of the latest smartphones including Android®, Windows devices with AT&T®, T-Mobile®, and Verizon® Wireless. Softcard™ uses NFC (near field communication) technology to send payment info at checkout.
It’s as easy as pie and I highly recommend you check it out! No more carrying around that big fat wallet of yours. Store everything in your phone on the Softcard™ app that is protected by a PIN number that only you know! You won’t have to search for your store loyalty card again! I love when I educate people about the Softcard™ app while I’m out and about, so many people are interested in it, and had no idea that anything like it even existed!

I dont own a smart phone, and I havent heard of this app yet. I have seen other apps that are similiar but I am not too sure about them. I would be concerned I would lose my phone and someone would get access.

I don't think I will use this app. I don't want anyone having access to my bank account that easily.

That kind of freaks me out. I guess it is just as "dangerous" as having a zillion cards in your wallet. I will wait to see how it does, and if any bad problems arise.
