Lil Monkey Dome Climber Review

The Lil Monkey Climber Dome is a super fun outdoor toy for kids age 3-6, it reminds me of those giant jungle gyms we used to have back on the playground when I was a little girl, except this is a much smaller scale. I have two girls ages 3 and 7, so this is perfect for them to play on.

I ordered our Lil’ Monkey Dome Climber on Amazon, and it arrived in about 5 days, and of course once we received it, it rained for about a week straight, then we had to wait for our backyard to dry up, and that was TORTURE for my daughters, and of course myself!

I have to be honest, I was pretty intimidated when I opened the box as there were SO many pieces, but after close examination, each part was labeled very well. Phew! First thing I did was lay the pieces all out by each letter so it would be easier to put together (there are WAY more white tubes, but I left all of those in the box). It took me about 30 minutes to put together from start to finish, without help from anyone, and I didn’t need any tools which was great as well! Some of them really needed a lot of muscle to go together, but I managed to do it! The instructions included with The Lil Monkey Climber Dome are very clear and well written. I find that is a problem with a lot of products these days, but the Lil Monkey Playground Jungle Gym instructions were on point.

The ONLY thing I was disappointed about is you MUST anchor this down, and the anchors are NOT included. I’m a stickler for safety, so I believe this is a must. When I buy a product, I expect everything to come with it for it to be completely functional, so that was a bit of a disappointment. I also will say, I have no idea how this will be brought in for the winter, because for me, it was impossible to take apart after getting it together. I tried the top pieces and the bottoms, and they just were not budging. Hopefully my husband can break this down for winter.

My girls absolutely LOVE playing on this! My just turned 7 year old, loves hanging upside down inside of the dome, and my 3 year old loves climbing around the outside of it. They also LOVE throwing a sheet over the top of it and making it their fort. We all know how much fun forts were when we were little, so I know how much fun they’re having! I even let them have little picnics inside of it with their stuffed animals, and they think it’s the coolest thing!

The other neat thing about this outside toy is the app that works interactively with the Lil Monkey Dome Climber. The app is a multi-level game that keeps children running around the climber to feed the Lil Monkey bananas. You can achieve best times as well as star ratings. My kids didn’t really “get” the app, as they just wanted to do their own thing. Your child may think differently though, I absolutely love the concept and believe the app is a great idea.

“The APP which is free to download once the Dome has been purchased, cleverly detects the location of the child and the Dome. When the child moves around the Dome, the App will identify the location of the child and will reveal a virtual world of fun! A Lil’ Monkey character will appear and instruct the child to feed him with fruits, discover treasures and win points. The player gets points by completing objectives as quick as possible. The quicker the child, the better chance to win those points!”

Buy it: You can purchase this on Amazon for $139.99, which includes free shipping.
The app is free with purchase and can be downloaded in the Google Play store and Apple iTunes.

You would think that for the price of cost they would supply the anchors, I'm a stickler for safety as well so not anchoring it would not be an option! Looks like fun though!

This looks like fun. If it's difficult to bring in during the winter I would hope it is pretty weather resistant.
