Softcard App from @VerizonWireless is a Lifesaver! – #PayWithMyPhone

I bet the title of this blog post has you intrigued, pay with my phone? How can I do that? I recently participated in a campaign from Verizon Wireless for Softcard and I can’t even begin to tell you how much easier it has made my life. So read on below to check out all the benefits of using Softcard by Verizon Wireless!

You get up to the grocery checkout line to find that you can’t find your debit card or credit card, you remember you left your debit card in the back pocket of your jeans last night when you ran out. UGH now what? You have a cart full of groceries, two unhappy and unpatient children who are hungry and tired, and your card is at home. Softcard by Verizon Wireless is the solution!

Before I was emailed about this campaign on behalf of Verizon Wireless, I had already noticed the icon on my phone, but I never actually clicked on it to see what it was all about and I wish I would have as I had been missing out on so much. Besides the fact that I use coupons when I shop, I’m always so irritated by the amount of store loyalty cards, gift cards, and debit/credit cards I have to carry around. My wallet is always stuffed and half the time I can’t even find the card I’m looking for, with Softcard by Verizon Wireless, you no longer have to worry about that.

Softcard from Verizon is a free app that allows you to store your credit cards and loyalty cards all in one place with a unique pin to open your wallet that protects your information! I know you’re probably thinking that everything on your phone may not be a safe place, but the only way it can be accessed is with a pin number. There’s no other way for anyone to get that info, even if your phone is stolen.

Now I’ll be totally honest, after I learned about this app I had no idea that any stores of mine even accepted it as I hadn’t seen anywhere that stated they would or any type of advertising. I actually event went to a few stores asking about it, and they told me they knew nothing about using your phone to pay, so you will definitely have to educate yourself on it first in case your store doesn’t know either. You can pull up a map through the app that will show you places in your area that accept Softcard. I was pleasantly surprised by how many stores near me accepted it, as well as stores I shopped at.

I can pay with my phone at over 200,000 locations nationwide and the best part is you don’t have to worry about a debit card or any store rewards cards. (Don’t forget – Data and messaging charges apply.) No fumbling around in your purse for the card you threw in last time, or your keychain to figure out which store card is for where you are. It’s as easy as opening the app, entering your pin, and holding your phone up to the terminal to pay. See the little symbol below with the hand holding a card, that’s exactly where you’d hold up the back of your phone. All of this of course if your phone is compatible, but almost every newer phone on the market can do this. I actually have a Samsung Galaxy S4 that’s over a year old and mine is able to do it.

It’s super easy to download the app and enter all your cards info, and you only have to do it once and it’s stored. I did have trouble finding 2 of mine in the app, but I’m sure Verizon Wireless will be adding more and more to the Softcard app. The two I couldn’t find were stores local to me anyways. You can still enter them though by making your own store name, entering the member id # and it will create a bar code to scan for next time you head to that store. Look for the symbol near you at stores you shop at to be able to pay with your phone. The stores near me that accept Softcard are CVS, Walgreens, Subway, AT&T, Petco, Office Depot, and even vending machines.

I don’t know about you, but Osh Kosh and Carter’s are both stores I always shop at, and I can always use a coupon for those stores!
