About a month or so ago we were sent the brand new Swiffer Sweep & Trap to test out. Here at Everything Mommyhood we have always been a fan of Swiffer products as we already have the Swiffer Sweeper, Swiffer WetJet, and Swiffer Dusters. I was excited to be given the chance to review this new product, the Swiffer Sweep & Trap!

swiffer2The Swiffer Sweep & Trap has the basic concept as the Swiffer Sweeper, using the same Swiffer Dry Sweeping cloths, except with this you can sweep over bigger items, such as cereal, grass, etc and it will get trapped up in a compartment that you can just dump in the trash, while the sweeping cloth picks up all the dust, hair, and smaller items as before! Swiffer Sweep & Trap uses rotating blades to pick up large particles and flicks them into a dirt bin. It’s lightweight and has a comfortable ergonomic handle that makes sweeping easy, even my 5 year old can do it. I love that there are no batteries required, all you need is the Sweeper Cloths and the Swiffer Sweep & Trap.

Swiffer sent me a few items to make a “mess” with to test the product. They sent mulch, nuts & bolts, and cheerios. The Swiffer Sweep & Trap had absolutely NO issues cleaning up any of those 3 things. I was definitely impressed.

There are a few things that I didn’t like about this product, but they aren’t a big deal because I still use it almost every day. When pushing the Swiffer Sweep & Trap, it wobbles side to side a bit instead of going in a straight line. It doesn’t really make a difference because it still picks up anything and everything, but it’s more annoying to me that it doesn’t go in a straight line. Also, once you get the dirt bin full of items they will fall out a little bit. Which I find once you have a big mess, just dump it out and it’s not a problem. If you have a few bigger items in the dirt bin, they stay in just fine.

I really think this is a great item to have around the house, and while it won’t replace my vacuum, it’s GREAT to have to clean up quick messes, especially with 2 kids and a husband making messes all the time. I recommend purchasing this product, which you can pick up at your local Walmart!

I love Swiffer. I use mine on a daily basis for quick cleaning. I haven't tried this one though. I'm sure I will! It's perfect for my hard wood floors.
