It seems these days technology is anywhere and everywhere, and I feel it’s taking over our lives. I feel like I can’t get a break from it, no matter what I do or where I go, which for me personally as a blogger, is hard to get away from it. A Tech TimeOut encourages families to take a daily break from technology.
What is a Tech Time Out do you ask? Participating families are encouraged to disconnect from all things electronic with the goal of helping spouses, parents and children build stronger bonds, communicate more personally and get more involved in each others lives. I’m going to encourage you to take the Foresters Tech Timeout Challenge, for just ONE whole week where you set ONE hour a day to have NO technology in your lives. Sit down with your spouse or your children and talk, play a game, read books, or play outside and get some exercise! It will feel great to take a break and spend time with your loved ones!
You can take a pledge right on the Tech TimeOut website, and I did! Please join me and follow through with your week of just ONE hour a day of no technology.
With the upcoming Holidays, now is time to take a break and spend some time with your loves ones! Do this challenge for the week, or even try to make it a habit!! Try it for a month, or even longer! It’s so very important to take a break from technology, and now is the time!
Encouraging our children might take a little bit of a fight, but it’s just an hour, and life is short. Family time is so much more important!
Head over to Tech TimeOut and take the pledge to take a daily tech timeout to turn off all of your electronic devices for at least one hour a day for the next week!!!
Let me know if you do it, I’d love to hear how it went too! I’m sure your family will love it!
