But if you really want to increase your comfort and decrease the dreaded swelling around the ankles you’ll need to pull on a pair of compression leggings. They provide extra control and help to increase blood circulation in the legs. It’s superior support without feeling constricted.

Get Those Pearly Whites Sparkling

We all lived through the teeth whitening craze, but dental care is something that has to be a priority before, during and after pregnancy. Ideally you were able to get a teeth cleaning before getting pregnant since gum disease can affect your baby’s development. The hormones that start raging during pregnancy are known to increase your risk for gum disease, which is all the more reason to make dental care a priority. To keep your pearly whites looking their best schedule a follow up cleaning during the second trimester.

The average American doesn’t drink enough water as it is, and when you’re pregnant your need for hydration is even greater. Your skin will begin to look more luminous because of increased blood circulation during pregnancy, but drinking lots of water will also help.

Keep Your Diet in Check

Doctors note that 25-35 pounds is a healthy weight gain range during pregnancy, which only requires about 300 extra calories a day. To feel and look your best during pregnancy, stick to a healthy diet full of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and lean protein – plus a few sweet treats every now and then.

Don’t Be Afraid to Play Up Your New Curves

During pregnancy, women become a lot curvier. In addition to a rounded belly most women’s cup size also increases. Instead of trying to camouflage your bump, play it up and have a little fun balancing it out with your newfound ample cleavage. Try a form fitting V-neck midi dress in a super luxurious fabric. Get Your Nails Done

Along with your hair, your nails will also be longer and stronger than ever thanks to pregnancy hormones. Once the little one arrives long nails just aren’t practical so now is the time to let them grow and make them standout with a vibrant manicure.

Lather on the Lotion

Stretch marks. They are the bane of every pregnant woman’s existence. In addition to the stretching that’s needed to make room for the baby, your skin can become itchy during pregnancy. Layering on lotion will help you avoid both of these problems so your skin looks and feels great. If the itching is substantial try a lotion that uses oatmeal as an ingredient.

Sleep. Every Moment Possible.

Enough said. Get all of the sleep you can. Whether it’s during the night, on the weekends, a nap, just get sleep. I promise you will not regret it. If you don’t sleep, those first few months post-partum, you will be kicking yourself for not doing so.

Love these tips! looking beautiful while pregnant can feel tough at times. With both my kids, I was huge as a house and their were days I just didnt want to feel beautiful or even care. I didnt have my mom around while I was pregnant so it made things tough. I didnt have the advice I should have gotten on how to take better care of myself.

I totally agree with not using pregnancy as an excuse to pig out. With my first, I ate constantly and after giving birth weighed less than I did before becoming pregnant. My second was a different story. I got fat. Now, luckily, I'm thin but it took a while.
